Stopping Civ Strat

I know that many players are posting some very useful strategies about how to win a game of cIV, but i have decided to write a small strategy about how to stop playing cIv.

You can probably guess that i suffer heavily from "Just one moe turn..."
So here are a few of my ways to try to convince myself to take a break and do some work.

1) Set a time limit for yourself, and stop playing when you reach that time limit.
2) Think of all the work you have, and why your grades have been rapidly dropping for the past few weeks.
3) Offer yourself a bribe (ex. If i stop now i'll eat 5 cookies.)
4) Pre arrange an event to take place an hour after you start to play.
5) Tell yourself that you have a funny strategy to put on Civfanatics.com, about how to get yourself to stop playing cIV



That's all i can think of right now, but if you have any other advice it would be greatly appreciated. Who knows, maybe this will turn out like the very popular 1000 clues threads.

It was nice of them to put a clock and alarm in the game, but the should have equipped the alarm with an comand that automatically saves the game and quits to desktop after it goes off

Well that mine very much like this game, she does not like really to play computer, but with this game she very much likes to try.

Wish my girlfriend was more "accomodating" like yours then. In fact, all I get is faces when I play Civ. Then the "Why are you playing that "stupid" game when you could be watching TV with me?" ... Oh and what's on you ask? Friends!!!! Great! Fairly simple choice isn't it? Friends the TV show or Civ? Hrmm...

It's quite funny actually. Her brother and even her younger sister play Civ and enjoy it, but with her, nup. Doesn't want to know about it or let anyone else have any fun with it. What the hell has she got against Civ?

So to the original poster, let me know where you live and I'll send my girlfriend around to STOP you from playing.

I'd be waiting quite a few years as the sister is a lot younger. That's not me anyway.

But see, by definition, it is a game. I dont think she is interested in that. I get the feeling she wants real-world, global-domination!

Not a problem, just build up good rep with the sister over the years by trading often and offering up the occasional gift. Also, being of the same religion should help boost relations.

Then, when the time comes, don't renew your ROP agreement with your girlfriend, sign a MDA with the sister and get her to declare war on your new ex. With a good pincer move you now have a far more agreeable partner and a thorn in your side is removed from the rankings...

...just don't cut back on your defense spending or you may find yourself in a sticky situation down the track, no matter how good your relationship is.
