OK, so my brother got Civ4 and Warlords on Christmas Eve. I installed it on my laptop and it ran perfectly. I did turn off the intro movies, though, because they slowed the loading down. Two days later, after there had been no problems whatsoever, my dad installed some Brother software for our fax machine. Later that day, I tried to run Civ4 again, expecting it to work, but it didn't. After I booted up the game, I started to set up my scenario under "Single Player", "Custom Game". After I had changed a few things, the game locked up, and the screen on my laptop started turning different colors, mainly white. In a few minutes, the laptop rebooted itself, locked up on the reboot, rerebooted, and started up fine.
SOOOooo, I tried again. Same results. I tried again. Ditto. I uninstalled the game, and then reinstalled it. Deja vu. My dad took a look at the event log on the computer, and he told me that there were no errors listed for Civ4.
Sooooo, I've been wondering. I tried again, and then realized that even if I didn't touch anything, the game locked up after about two minutes. Is there some sort of time-delay error common to Civ4? Or is Brother software an error-creator? Please give me some advice!
