Okay, things are getting interesting here.

Turn 2: 3900 BC

Barbarians are showing up on the map.

Byzantine landed 2 armies in the Crimea, but one is summarily ambushed by a group of Crimean Raiders. The raiders easily take out one of the defenders. In the distance, a Crimean camp can be seen.

When exploring Syria, Byzantine armies encounter an Isralei army.

While heading to the Adriatic coast, another Byzantine army discovers a group of somewhat civilized people called the Venitians. At the same time, a Venitian army discovers a group of somewhat civilized people called the Byzantime peoples. The armies don't meet.

The Alaskans join the ranks.

Ventitan armies spy a raiding party to the east.

An Aztec army spies a raiding party to the north.

The Egyptian-Isralei border expands.

Remember folks, you can grow two things, or expand economy during your turn.

Joshua met with the ruler of Byzantium. The king was pleased to see Joshua and likewise. "Hello. I represent the Land of Israel. We bring peace and good will toward the Byzantine nation. A peace treaty was signed. Joshua became good friends with the King. He offered an alliance.

The Emperor paced the stone structure, the only stone structure in the city. It stood out from the mud brick homes and wooden shops like an oasis in a desert. The wind continually whisped through the large streets and marketplaces, creating a dust that filled the air and blended sky to earth with a nice mild sense. Tomas knew, however, that this one city, only now a trade haven of small marketplaces, will become one of the most respected, beautiful, and important cities in the world. Already many believed it to be the center of the world, with other kingdoms rising out all around it.

Emperor Tomas also knew that it could topple at this age, weak while only developing. Howver, it was not likely. While the new nations of Venitia and Israel may outnumber his army, the navy was the best in the known world, more numerous then both his neighbors combined! However, a navy was not the only tool Byzantium needed to become powerful. It was land that produced food, and food that fed armies. And so he could not let the Israeli Emperor push past his army in southern Turkey.

Meanwhile, a barbarian holdout was threatening the expansion of the Byzantine Empire during Tomas' most brilliant plans of expansion across the Great Black Sea. Already a whole army was ambushed by these raiders, and so he was forced to send a whole other army to destroy these people.

We will accept peace and an alliance if you do not push anymore north then where your army is at as of now. If you do, then we will have no choice but to not sign an alliance.

Increase army and navy
Send one new army on board new navy to aid the army in destroying the Crimean and expanding. If they destroy successfully, one expands east, one expands north.
Army in Adriatic coast is to expand south.
Army in Southern Turkey is to dart east as fast as they can to the Caspian Sea.
Navy by the Crimea is to come back to Byzantine.
New navies in Byzantine are to go south a patrol along the Turkey coast and Greece coast, not allowing any settlers from anyother nation enter.
One new army is to expand east into Turkey, or if I can reach, help the army in South Turkey.
