I'm having a little problem with my internet connection and my Xbox 360 and was hoping someone could help... I am a total n00b when it comes to computers and stuff. I am using a Linksys hub and a GNET modem (the computer and the modem are connected to the hub)

My xbox tells me that I have strict NAT settings and that I should open them. So I went to the xbox website and it told me to open some ports. So I went to the control panel, opened up the ports it told me to open, and yet my NAT is still set to strict. I even have the UPnP open. And yet that darned NAT will not open.

So can someone who knows a lot about the internets help me please? It would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you for answering my nooby questions =P

I'm trying to access my hub through firefox... it tells me I need a username and password. I tried leaving it blank and I tried "admin" but they didn't work. Please help?

The default username/password should be in the hub manual.. if you can't find that, try googling it.. If you still can't find it.. or have changed the password and don't remember what it is - you should be able to reset the hub to default settings.. there should be a little button you have to press with a pin (or something equally small).. that will reset all your settings though - and might cause you some temporary problems.

Hubs are pretty primitive devices and don't do NAT. I'm surprised yours comes with some sort of configuration interface at all! I can't imagine what there would be to configure. You should either look into purchasing a router, or connect only a single device to your modem.
