I thought I had this one under control ever since I whitelisted Civ VI in Windows Defender. But now it's back.
Loading the game, trying to click the continue-button after the two logos finish playing, and the game window just flickers in and out (as if I had done a very quick task-switch) and comes back to the "click continue"-screen.I can hover over the button and it'll glow, so I'm pretty sure Civ is the active/foreground window. But I can't click the friggin button...
Only way to cure this is to kill Civ VI in the task manager.
EDIT: Clicking while the logos play does bring me to the main menu (skipping the continue screen) but I'm getting the same behavior there: Can't click on anything without the game doing a task-switch.
EDIT 2: For some reason, switching the game to "windowed with no taskbar" in the settings-file fixed this behavior. I had expected that it was somehow related to "fullscreen vs windowed" and/or the fact that I'm running two monitors, but I can't recall any other game exhibiting this behavior on my PC.
What I don't get that is that the game had been working perfectly well on fullscreen for weeks now. Today, all of a sudden, I'm getting the endless loop of task-switches again.
