Ok, perhaps some of you know my SubWar project, a little preview is on my website at http://civ2000.civ2.gamesweb.de/civ2000preview.htm
I post here to give you some more info about this. The scn is in a work very long time now, but I worked faster on Imperium Romanum, so this was finished earlier.
For Subwar I started with the idea of a modpack-like game that plays entirely underseas, with big deep sea companies as civs. Basic ideas:
-the civs/companies in SubWar are the biggest powers of the (near) future, fighting with eachother in the deep sea
-normal continents are normal ocean ground, civ2 ocean squares are deep sea (only for deep sea units = civ2 ships)
-therefore navy techs and units play a major role
Many of these ideas are still the backbone of the game now (I just restarted the work on the scn), with some important changes:
-I think about something like a background story, so I plan to introduce only one playable civ that fights against all others, idea: the player controls a multinational task force that fights against the big companies who exploit the sea, destroying the environment and made a conspiracy that is a threat for the whole planet...
-the scn will be not too long, not too much empire building, the main goal is to find and defeat your enemies (especially one of the companies that leads the conspiracy<IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/wink.gif" border=0>)
-events are very important, I plan to have something like "missions" within the scn, hope I can realize all the ideas i have in mind.
