A succession game is a Single Player (SP) game played by a group of people.
While playing the person must keep a timeline of the most important events that occur during his reign. When finished, he passes on a saved game to a next player by uploading it on the site, and posts the timeline in the game's thread so that other players are informed of what happened.

After one player posts a game file, the next player in the succession will be the first person to post and say he is playing.

Discussions on game strategy are encouraged.

Maximum allowed number of turns to play in one session would depend on how many interested people there are. I'd say start with 30, but hopefully that number can be reduced.

So has someone taken the first turn?

Since no one has said something, I'd say "no". Go ahead (and say so here)!

Ok here is the save for the beginning of turn 30. Gonna open a new thread later to try for a more storied version.

Started within sight of the Manifold Nexus, used the suppies to get a rover (as always).

Early pod popping earned us a Monolith within the capitol's radius, another rover, a former, a materials pod and a bunch of energy. We also met Zak. Decided to start at peace with everyone we meet since our infantry are the worst in the game. More pod pops include 2 choppers, a gun foil which was lost the next turn, and another rover. Used the materials pod to build the Unity Cryobay since it was the only thing available to us.

Teched Xenobiology to work the Manifold and Monolith and started on Archeology to get the Planet Attitude bonuses as well. Popped Defense Logistics and Bioengineering.

Currently trying to get out a couple Colony Pods with the hope of securing the Ruins to the west, and a viable trade route to-from the capitol.

After writing this, I wish I had kept more accurate records of the early years.

There doesn't seem to be that much interest in a succession game after all, so I went ahead and released the next patch.
