I find it a bit anoying that several AIs tend to die before they even get off the ground, usually to hordes of frostlings, orthus, aggressive neighbors, or just random barbarians.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to add a new option for custom games, to prevent early rushing and destroying of Civs. The mechanic for it seems to already exist, as when you do an advanced start, the game enforces 10 turns of global peace, and the option to declare war simply isn't there.
It would be nice to have an option to force this on for the first 100 turns or so, to allow all civs a chance to grow, fill out the terrain around them, and at least start to reach their potential.
I'm not sure what effect that global peace setting has on barbarians. It would be ideal if they could be prevented from taking cities, or even entering player territory.
