I had an idea for a truely EPIC Civil War mod for Civ4, because in my SS class, we are learning about what led up to it. Here are the ideas I want to implement into this mod:
  • Technologies Pertaining to the Civil War Era ; Cotton Gin
  • Units based on Proslavery/Antislavery forces mostly based on "Bleeding Kansas"; Border Ruffian, Proslavery Settler (Different from normal settlers), Abolitionist and Plantation Owner (Spread views on slavery), etc.
  • Pledging allegience to either the Union or Confederacy (BASED ON SLAVERY VIEWS!!!)
  • "Civilizations" becoming "States" - 18 of the "important" states will make the cut; For sure: Virginia (where Richmond is), Maryland (to hold D.C), Kansas, and South Carolina
  • Religions being replaced with "Views on Slavery"; Abolition and Slavery
  • States can declare a "View on Slavery" when they have a "Size 5" city.
  • Map Script to generate a map similar to the US (to the Rockies)
  • Game is won when either: 66% of states adopt your View on Slavery (thus putting that view into the Constitution) or your country (allegiance) captures 50% of the other country's cities.

I' m surprised there already is not an American Civil War scenario in game (?)

I do my best wishes to your project.

Anyway, it would be cool to have a mod allowing for civil wars for any civs, when conditions arise.

Isn't there anything similar?

I have to say; this strikes me as a somewhat odd idea!

So you basically have a mod that plays on a random map in the Civil War era only, and the conflict has to be about slavery? Whatever makes you happy! :goodjob:

All YES, except that it is a random map based 90% on the USA. How it might change: Carribean might or might not have Cuba, Flordia might or might not be there, coastline changes, 75% change of having no Long Island, Appalachians might be high.
