How about we have a quick thread here where we post what we want to have change. BUT! :nuke: Don't post a sentence or paragraph of what you think things should change to and why, just post what you want to change, like so:

-Ships need to have a higher HP, be able to attack multiple times and move faster.
-Some method of reducing movement on railroad tracks
-Allow to RETRAIN units to the already existing ability to buy an upgrade

That's it. Then maybe post a link to your thread about what you think it could be with your post. Don't write what you think it should be, just put a link like:

Retrain units - http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=2353838&postcount=12

Perhaps too we can each add 1 or 2 things that really don't need to change. The problem is that there are so many ideas in this forum that it would take Firaxis 1 year to read them all. We don't need to reinvent the wheel, maybe just smooth out the wheel by about 5 - 10% so that it runs better, if you get my drift. Let's filter out the ideas that while they would be nice, are just not necessary. Sure, maybe having a new government system would be nice, but is it necessary? Does Firaxis have to rethink every detail on how this game works?

Here's my example of what is fine:

-Worker/Settler system (Don't combine them EVER again!)
-Not having to deliver caravans (Don't bring that back ever!)
-Don't ditch that auto explore button for units added in the expansions!

-fewer set limits (I hate the 31 civ limit and I hated the 1000 or so city limit the one time I reached it)
-A modern government that allows paying to hurry improvements but not having war weariness. (I often find my self stuck in Monarchy, late in the game)
-I really have a problem with unlimited movement on railroads

Don't change:
Cultural borders
Lack of caravans
U.N., I like it as a victory wonder

Change:

-Railroads
-Naval Power
-New DAs like Non-Aggression Pact and 'Lend Lease' Programme
-The bug that sometimes gives me continents when I ask for Pangea
-Abolish workers in favour of National Labour Force
-When I play on Archipelago and most of the civs start right near me
-AIs walking through your land and having the cheek to tell you to get off theirs
-The AI asking for absurd demands, and getting a rep hit for refusing a totally unfair offer

Don't change:

-Civs. Just make it so it's easy to make new ones.
-'Eras' structure
-We Love The King Day

ybbor, I noticed in your final post on that thread that youd stopped actively maintaining it because, in your humble opinion, everything to be said has already been said.

Given these words, dont you think your sarcasm is a little offensive?

well, i challenge you to find one thing that isn't already mentioned in the sticky that isn't "we should include tapioca pudding as a tech after ironclads"

ohhhh! ohhh! i know! i know! the game could have a sticky, just like this forum that serves THE EXACT SAME PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=84849

Your stickies - which I know you spent a long time on - are, no offense, too long because they address every little suggestion, which is too much. People here can write in their own words, and - no offense - I just thought it would be easier for Firaxis to read. Plus we add in the stuff we want to see stay.

So...

Out with the  and in with the

I'd like to see more variety in gameplay, less snowball effects, a reward for perfectionism and pacifism (to rival that of expansionism and militarism), and competition that doesn't end by 250 AD when you know you have enough cities to win the game.

A few suggestions I've thrown out for this already... albeit in other threads, with more detail.

Culture
- gain points for transmitting culture to nearby enemy cities
- lose culture points for cultivating resentment and hatred from nearby enemy cities
- the end result: peace is good for culture

Economics
- quantified resources
- a greater variety of resources
- every civ can have a monopoly on a different resource
- no civ can be self-sufficient
- trade bonuses for trading internationally, instead of domestically
- tangible trade routes that flow through various landscapes and territories
- war and corruption interferes with the flow of trade
- end result: peace is necessary for a good economy
- end result: expansionism is not necessary for a good economy

Heroic Historical Behavior
- give out a special kind of victory point for "good behavior"
- thwarting a conquerer becomes as valuable as cooperating with them
- giving territory back becomes as valuable as keeping it for yourself
- end result: an incentive for some to play "the keeper of order" in a game where many pursue the goal of world domination, just like in real life

International Relations
- puppet regimes, with a reason to have a puppet instead of just outright conquering
- trading units
- multilateral agreements
- a much greater depth of espionage, with many kinds of propaganda

Other
- simplify the worker system greatly
- a more versatile tech tree with completely different brances and directions
- a more versatile government system, like SMAC, or the "circle of politics" (left/right)
- more civs
- multiple leaders per civ with different traits
- unique artwork for each civ (e.g.: japanese pyramids, zulu university)

That's mostly off the top of my head.

i only made one sticky ;)

actually if my sticky has any problem, it's that it adresses only the big stuff. i don't include every thread, sometimes because i think the idea is stupid and will only hinder the game, or because the idea is so small scale, it doesn't merit significant discussion. this thread on the other hand will have the opposite problem, you will have people posting about every little change/thing they want to stay, and to make matters worse, you will have no control over it. and because mine is organized, and you can find most ideas with fairly minimal searching, mine is more user freindly than your wade-through-the-whole-thing-to-find-one-idea.

oh brother...

well... my penis is bigger than yours!

come on guys... let's not have stupid arguments over who's sticky is better than the others. different people like different things. some people like to be able to look through a list of thnigs arranged by topic, and some people like to be able to read through a bunch of "do's and don'ts" in typical forum format.

Like eromrab says, it's not the size, it's what you do with it that counts ;)

:hmm:Realy? I always thought that Pie had more of an impact on the development of Civilization.

We need GDRs.
The people saw this, and they were pleased.
Hurrah! [party]

We should have a cooler intro movie.
As long as we add in GDRs we won't need an intro movie.

You always have to disagree, don't you?

A GDR intro movie would be the best!

Come on, GDRs are so grand that they need no introduction. Well other than this one:
The holiest of all threads: The GDR Thread said:
just outside of Paris a rumbling is heard. Some birds perched on the branch of a tree fly off in fear. The scene pulls back and we see a huge factory, suddenly the gates of the factory open and out comes a giant steam driven metal thing, In the control section is the insane genius/architect/scientist that is Gustave Eiffel! The dawn of the age of GDRs is at hand! The way we envision warfare changes forever!

We can then cycle through the other GDRs... ending finally in the ultimate GDR... whatever that is...
