I realise that Civilisation III: Conquests has been outdated for a while now, but I haven't really warmed to the newer versions of CIV for various reasons. Thus, I've been continuing to play Civilisation III: Conquests, but have also been kind of nonplussed at certain limitations, historical inaccuracies, and the arbitrary equalisation of the CIVs, amongst other things. I've tried out a number of user-created scenarios and mods, but have always run into similar problems.

Thus, in the back of my mind, I've always had it in mind to create my own super-Civilisation scenario, incorporating as many of the things that I enjoy when playing CIV3 as possible. And so I've decided to slowly start working on it, using Rhye's Faster-Loading Earth, and the Bigger, Better Earth mods as starting reference points.

Some of the features I'm going to include are:
1) Pre-set Initial Territories
2) ~10 Unique Units for each Civilisation
3) Flavour Units for each civilisation
4) The ability for a conquerer to train the UUs of his occupied nations, but only if they're occupied
5) Bonus units trainable by civilisations that meet certain requirements, most of which involve ruling a certain city
6) Religions
7) New Wonders/Buildings/Units/Civilisations

Incidentally, if anyone can tell me the max. # of Buildings/Improvements/Wonders and the max. # of units allowed is, that's be great.

Civilisations: In no particular order:

1) Britain
2) France
3) Germany
4) Spain
5) Portugal
6) Scandinavia
7) Rome
8) Greece
9) Hungaria
10) Russia
11) Turkey
12) Israel
13) Arabia
14) Egypt
15) Persia
16) Songhai
17) Zululand
18) Ethiopia
19) India
20) Siam
21) China
22) Korea
23) Japan
24) Mongolia
25) Incaland
26) Mayaland
27) Aztecland
28) Iroquois
29) America
30) Netherlands
31) Cascadia

The original civilisations that I didn't include are:

1) Hatti
2) Carthage
3) Byzantium
4) Celts
5) Sumeria
6) Austria

Now the reason I'm posting this is because I'm having a hard time figuring out all the Unique Units. So on the off-chance that someone still plays/cares about Civilisation III, or is just willing to help me, I'm hoping for some assistance in that area, solely to make it a bit easier.

The unit list so far is: (The Unique Units for each civ are listed first; the standard list is listed afterwards)

You want more historical accuracy and you have a Cascadia civ at the same time???

Cascadia's my "just for fun" civ. Notice how it doesn't have any UUs so far.

I'm planning on just having fun with it, since it's my home. ;)

At any rate, while historical accuracy is important, the "fun" factor is even more important for me. :b

Incidentally, if anyone can tell me the max. # of Buildings/Improvements/Wonders and the max. # of units allowed is, that's be great.

a) max. # of Buildings/Improvements/Wonders: 256
b) max. # of units allowed: 8192 units placed on the map for C3C; no limitation of unit-types known.

Is there a limit to the # of technologies allowed as well?

Welcome! :)

There is no direct limit known about the# of technologies that can be added in C3C - but: There is an indirect limit coming from the tech advisor graphics for the different eras. For example, many civers say the techs and techtrees in RAR or DYP are unpredictable (and some of them like this and others not). In my eyes a techtree should be visually clear, so a civer has no need to wonder what a nonsense he had researched here.

There is a patch that allowes you to transcend the unit limit but not the buidlings limit. It also incorporates a no raze patch and no city limit patch.

Not that it's important, but Austria is not an original civ in unmodded Civ 3.

Which patch?

Well Austria's a "bonus" civilisation whose specs come with the game, so... :b

Yes, the visual technology aid does worry me a bit, but I don't think there should be significant problems. :b

Which patch?

For these kind of patches you normally have to look for threads of the forummembers skyer, skyer2 and knuckles.

Some of these patches (especially the no-raze-patch) can be a really gigantic help for scenarios. For more than 8192 units on the map please consider, that more than 8.000 units on a map - even on modern computers - can trigger really looooong turn times.

Well actually that "units on the map" isn't really a problem. Everyone starts with just 1-4 guard units and 1-4 workers in every city. Nowhere near 8000. ;)

I think knuckles did the patch that covers all three things.

How do Austria's specs come with the game? In a scenario? In a regular epic game they aren't an option are they? It's been a long time since I played unmodded civ 3 though.

Austria is a "Bonus" civ, which means that you have to edit it in, replacing another civilization, to play it. But the graphics are all already included with C3C, including both UU and leaderhead.

Austria is Militaristic and Industrious, its leader is Charles V, it starts with Masonry and Warrior Code, its UU is the Hussar (which I believe replaces the Cavalry), and its capital city is Vienna.
