Hi,

I would like to discuss about this game and its theme which is very appealing to almost all hardcore strategy gamers. The theme is based on a present day/near future geopolitical world with 193 countries. The history of this theme begins with two early '90's games called "Shadow President" and "Balance of Power". Now among the two latest game of the same theme I know; one of which is SUPERPOWER 2 which is already released and the other still under development SUPREME RULER 2010 which will be released sometime in March, 2005. For SUPERPOWER 2 I would say that it initially had some bugs however, the company has created 3 patches which have solved many bugs and its developing a complete patch which it calls Bonus Pack/Patch 1.3 which it will release sometime in December and they claim that it will make the game perfect. I however, personally like the theme of this game and I like SUPERPOWER 2. I would like to know your opinon about this theme. Since the developer of SUPERPOWER 2 is a mid size company may be due to the lack of funds they could not release the game without any bugs initially. I am sure that SUPREME RULER 2010 which is developed by battlegoat will also be a success. Now please let me know isnt there a scarcity of games based on this theme i.e. Present day/near future geopolitical world games? I think the concept interests many people but there are not many makers of games of this theme. What you think if major companies take interest in this theme a create such games? I think that if major companies develop and publish games of this theme the games would rock? Do you agree?

I just found out about it two hours ago, and already I have asked my parents for it for Christmas. I doubt I can wait 20 days for it.

Well, Superpower 1 and 2 are great in theory. If you look at all the features and all the interface boxes, it might seem like a great game.

But once you actually play it, it just doesn't play as good as it should. Far from it in fact. There is hardly any semblance of realism.

If someone can make games like this, and actually make it work the way it should, it's definitely going to rock. But until then...
