Support for Greek characters!Help!

I want to translate Cin 4 in greek but greek characters aren't support everywhere. ROME TW supported them with no problem whats going on? I found some character files in "recourses\fonts\".But there were also files with greek characters exept from english.I replaced the files that contained english with greek ones but still nothing. I found TGA files containing english characters in "assets\res\fonts". I deleted them in photoshop and replaced them with greek ones but then game wasnt playnig.

Greek characters are recognisable in messages like "The enemy was spoted near Athens!" But thiw does not happen in civilopedia or on the cities's "boards" where their names are writen.

What can i do?

I would think there's some level of unicode support... otherwise it would be very hard to change any of the stuff beyond the common fonts supported, like english, french, german and probably spanish.

Anything you want in english french german or spanish is in the ISO-8859-1 (latin-1) character set. No unicode needed. Latin-1 does not include greek, which is ISO-8859-7.

But why ROME TOTAL WAR did support them? It was using the windows's ISOs? Civ IV has its own? Where? But i imaggine that even if you know where they are its to hard to change them isn't it?

But why the half character files in that folder contain greek?

i said yet, because they might release future version, or even expansion. i dont think its happening soon

Sigh!!!! Then i will have to translate it with greeklish(writing greek with english characters). What do you think?

I tried my self to do the same but greeklish dont fit me. Better leave the english as it is. And Wait..

Wait? I dont think firaxis will publish a patch especially for greek support

Very strange if a game published in 2005 and using XML files doesn't support Unicode.

Unicode means support for all languages right?

And think that supports 5 languages. Firaxis, to make the game suppor unicode or ISO-9001-007(greek) is something hardwork?

I mean if it isn't can you make-publish a patch please?Lets say version 1.091?But it isn't so simple to make it my self, i mean replacing some files right?
