Hi everybody!

I could use some help with an english assigment for School...

I need you to write down the first things you think of when you think of Sweden. And try to answer:

1. what's typically Swedish
2. What's typical for Sweden.

Clichés are very welcome. I want every preconceived notion you have about Sweden.

Thank you in advance! :) :goodjob:

1. what's typically Swedish?

Beautiful blonde women.

2. What's typical for Sweden?

Sexual innuendo!

Yes beautiful blonde women is the first thing I think of.

Typical for Sweden: perfect environment, healthcare, excellent quality of living, not enough to do at night, and rather long nights not to do enough in...

A damn good system of market socialism.
Highest standard of living in the world.
Relatively small population.
Not many immigrants - meaning most of the people are "white."

Lutefisk (Sweden's "gift" to Minnesota).
My Swedish ancestors.
Good porn.
Vikings.
"Dark Swedes"/depression (my grandfather certainly had it).
Ingmar Bergman

These were the first six things I thought of, in order.

Other than depression, I don't know if any of these are typically Swedish or typical to Sweden today.

Swedes are generally reserved, difficult to get to know and have no sense of humour. When they break out of this reserve they go crazy, where going crazy usually involves vast amounts of alcohol and/or sex.

Sweden has a political system that has been dominated by just one single party for 70 years.

Sweden is an amazingly beautiful country, full of history that the Swedes themselves barely acknowledge.

Despite all this, I would love to live in Sweden!

Beautiful blonde women - and men my wife thinks ;)
Social conscience
Porn and sex
Reserved - more than Norse but not as bad as Finns
Depressed - as above
Abba
Volvo
Saab

I looked at this thread and have found something wrong:

Highest standard of living in the world.

Nope that is actually Norway;)

Lutefisk (Sweden's "gift" to Minnesota).

Norwegain christmas food;)
