Where the hell did you gather this data from? For starters, US doesn't grow coffee. I think the best beans come from Jamaica and Haiti. Then it is up to the roaster to do the beans justice. There are some excellent roasters in the US. And no, starbucks isn't one of them

No kidding.

American coffee is... well... just about drinkable - if you like stuff as thin as dishwater. And they'll give you as much as you want of it for one price.

Swedish coffee is something else. They boil it!!!

American coffee at least has a use... to take the taste away after you've been forced to drink Swedish coffee.

I think you are over generalizing how Americans prepare their coffee.

I prefer to drink drip coffee (how most Americans prepare it) along with a shot or 2 of espresso. Or just espresso.

I prefer Tea to Coffee.

Of course I'm generalising! I'm not one of those self-indulgent posters who writes thousand word messages that no one reads. Life's too short for that.

And I'm not going to be dictatorial. There are many ways to prepare good coffee. Most people can do it. Most people can't be bothered.
