Switching sides

Hello. First post here.

In Civ II there was an option in the 'cheat' menu to switch sides ie. change the CIV you are playing as. I found this very enjoyable, as i enjoyed the challenge of setting up situations and then responding to them from the other side, for example attempting to take a small, nearly defeated nation and help them survive, thrive etc.

Is there a similar feature in CIV III and if there is how do i acess it?

I would be very grateful for any help.

No, but the next best things is setting up a hot-seat game and playing all players yourself.

Hot-seat is a multi-player option, you'll need the expansions for that.

There also is the debug mode. I think you have to do that in the editor, i don't know how the editor works.

Debug mode allows you you to look into the AI cities and make changes. If you don't do anything, it will just play as the AI is supposed to.

Is quite sad.

Maybe enjoyable though.

Gotta try it some times.

Yes i created an alliance with myself then destroyed my self.

Thanks for the responses. It's a shame; i really liked that feature.

I tried the Hotseat thing but it takes forever to play a game as all 8 Civs!
