"Europe & the Middle East" still leaves a lot of options. Can you narrow it down by requesting a general time period? I can post lots of useful pics for ya, but I need something more specific. Medieval European synagogues look very different from more modern ones. Same thing goes for Middle Eastern ones. Egyptian synagogues look different than Syrian ones, etc. A requested time period would help a lot & I'd love to help.
Here's a cool one:
Old-New Synagogue, Prague, Czech Republic.
Built in 1270. Europe's oldest active synagogue. One of the earliest Gothic buildings. Survived many pogroms, wars, fires & redevelopments over the centuries. Oldest surviving example of the medieval twin nave type of synagogue.
Franz Kafka attended & had his bar mitzvah there plus tons of other, older history.
