System OK?

Hi, I just got the game today and installed it on my laptop: Sony Vaio Z1 running Intel Pentium M processor, 1500Ghz, 512 Ram but I've noticed only 16Mb Video card, will the game run ok?
When I search terrain with my warrior tiles I've passed over go dark again, so its like I never explored the area!? Is this a new game mod or do I have a video card problem?

Does it go totally black or can you see terrain but its darker than area around warrior? The latter is normal. Also install 1.09 patch if you haven't already. This fixes the "black terrain" bug with many videocards. Other than that not much you can do with a videocard that is way under spec (64 mb tnl is required)

It's the latter. In the old game the explred terrain stayed visible? Will try the patch and let you know how I get on. Thanks T

That's just a normal change from civ 3 to 4. If you notice you can make out terrain features and city names. Personally, I wish you could see everyhing but units with it only slightly darkened but what can you do. I can't be 100% sure without seeing a screenshot but I bet what you're describing is normal. The "black terrain" glitch covers everything including your cities. Easiest way to tell if this is your problem is to look at cities in your empire. If terrain directly around your cities is darkened you have the famous black terrain bug.
