I have had zero problems with the takeover ads working properly. I have not seen a popup in a month so I think we have that problem licked also.

While I hate to be disagreeable, Paul, I just had two pop-up ads in the forums this morning.

The 'white writing' problem has never gone away, and if anything is getting worse.
They are not usually from popups (although I have seen them appear with a popup, but it may be a coincidence) - I think they are related to the banner ads. There is another thread about it...
Oh, and I get the TakeoverAds several times a day still too.

I also have pop-ups in the forum, maybe one or two yesterday and then 3 or so in the couple days before that.

Paul, I would second Padma's comment here.
Something is hosed with the intrusive pop-ups and take-overs particularly that are screwing up the text contrast in the basic software.
I make this statement as a staff member on the site who regularly has to perform tasks to release information and support other members. The current methods of ad delivery have got to go and then some process needs to be put in place to keep new and more painful screwups from being inserted with the ads.
The misdirection codes that alter the way the site functions and the way the text appears are absolutely unprofessional and disruptive. The ads are not the problem, it is the bush-league way that the coding gets inserted into all the functions that ends up screwing up even the most basic access to use the site in some way.
It's the extra garbage that has us almost constantly on a bug hunt to find new ways to suppress or bypass every possible appearance of garbage ads and misdirection that literally disables the content portion of the site.
People come here for the content and the ad functions need to serve their function without shutting down the content.
It also seems that every time the servers crash or slow down it is because the ad elves are in the background screwing around with the codes that shovel up the ad content in new and even more intrusive ways.

While I used to get a "swiss mercenary" pop-up until last week, I now get some "catapult" pop-up (about twice per session).
