Teaching non colony professions

About "Education System" (using schools)
--------------------------------------------------------

Well guys, of course there also has to be a student in the school ...
You can not teach if you do not produce "Education" by putting students into school.

And yes, the Profession Expert that you want to teach must have been in the city itself.
Otherwise you can not teach it in that city.

Also some Experts require different levels of the school.
Some Experts can be taught by normal Schools, others need Colleges and others need Universities.

The system was working perfectly for me as well ...

About "Learning by Doing" (training on the job to become an Expert)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a totally different second system that has nothing to do with Schoools.
It is also not deterministic - it uses a complicated random algorithm that uses chances that increase over time.

It however also has min-times and is designed to be slower than Schools.
However in the mean time your non-expert can produce goods and it is for free.

It is as simple as this:
Have a non-specialist worker work long enough in the same profession and at some point he will become an Expert.
Nothing however will tell you how long it will take - it will happen though eventually ...

If the miner and lumberjack has been in the city for 1 turn then I don't know what is wrong here. Someone else must help you then. It works for me.

You should expect 40 -60 turns or more for a school house level profession.
How is your city 5x5 scale? That looks awesome. Could you advise me on how to do that please?

Please look at my screenshot and tell me what am I doing wrong here?

Specialists have been working there for over 100 turns so I shouldn't get the "no teacher" message but I do...

It happens with the second boarder expansion from culture. Just build a lot of those buildings that produce culture and wait. You must choose to play with 2 square city radius too of course.

I have no idea but for the (internal) version I am working on, it is working perfectly.
(It also already contains the new features e.g. "Happiness")

I can only suspect the following:

A) You still have an old and buggy version. (Some version before I was member of WTP - I can not tell you if there was a bug in Education List.)
OR
B) The 1-Plot-DLL (which you are using) itself might be bugged. - I only work and test on 2-Plot-DLL. (Because that is the way I play myself.)

Pick the right DLL file. One has colonies as 3x3, the other as 5x5. They will be merged into one file and then it will ask ingame when starting a new game because way too many people have issues with the setup of this.

I am using the 2.7.2 Beta 1 which Nightinggale gave me a download link to: https://github.com/We-the-People-civ4col-mod/Mod/releases/tag/2.7.2-beta-1

Could you maybe provide a link to where I can get the same version you have? I did the 2-Plot-DLL and I now have the 5x5 size but I don't have the happiness like it is shown on your screen. Would appreciate it.

Happiness hasn't been released yet, it is part of the internal developments of the mod.

@raystuttgart do you know when the next public version is likely to be released yet?
