Team Fortress 2

It is rather fun - particularly for short blasts. Working my way through all the classes, and so far the standard soldier and pyro appeal to me for maximum carnage :D

I still play it and sometimes its fun but it just doesnt sweep me off my feet like say battlefield 1942 did when I first played it. I ussually p[lay as the medic or the heavy, I love it when you happen to come upon a crowd as a heavy, its absolute carnage.

I LOVE charging into crowds as a pyro, I've also been working on how to sue demonam's nades against him, when he blows them up and you are at full health, sometimes they can send you flying, and if you get on his side of them, it sensds you AT HIM!

Not enough screenshots in this thread.

I'm pretty sure he blew himself up on me.

Not sure what happened here but EpharGy appears to be shocked at what is on the ground.

I love Pyro! Especially to just run at a close group of enemies with thrower a flaming and set everyone on fire!

Pyro seems to be broken for me, it eems that all the flamethrowere ever does is light people on fire but never actually does any direct damage.

You have to be very close to use the flamethrower - it's almost a melee weapon. When you light people on fire they take damage until a-the fire goes out b-they get healed c-they die.

Very good video on how to play the Spy class.

I have played more as a Spy than any other class (second most played class is the Soldier). It is a difficult class to play well, it's almost as if your playing a completely different game to all the other classes. Very easy to mess up - even if you make no mistakes you may get spy-checked at the wrong moment - but very satisying when it works.

The Pyro is good for spy detetcting. I have killed a lot of spies that way.

I've been playing this game almost non stop since I got it. And I still have to finish Episode 2, plus normal day to day stuff. I'm just glad Portal was short and sweet.

Some engineers protect their buildings much like a parent protects its young. Being hit on the back of a head by a heavy wrench after a chase halfway across the map will teach you this.

And don't you DARE come near mah sentry again!

A few rules as an engineer;

1. Never leave your sentry/dispenser alone.

2. Shoot/hit EVERYONE who comes near you, multiple times is best (sometimes your shots get abosrbed by your children or just seem to miss).

3. Pyros are your best friend, as they are excellent spy catchers. Be nice to them.

4. Put the dispenser behind you and hide behind the sentry, that way it will continuosly resupply and heal you while not being too exposed to enemy fire.

5. Spam the medic button (or if you know the vocie commands or ask help via a mic if you have one) if you are compeltely occupied knocking sappers off your sentry/dispenser. It should draw attention of a nearby teammate (along with the blue sparks emitted by the sappers) who can help you with the spy.

I wonder if we have a higher proportion engineers/medics on the civfanatics forum than in the general population, I'm guessing we Civ players would be more inclined to use those classes.

Personally I end up using medic more than I would like to because the team usually doesn't have enough of them. I almost always use it if there are no other medics on my team.

Everytime I play this game I cant help but think you know, its got great polsih balance and a lot of great ideas....but its just not actually fun

You sure you actually like FPS games Harbringer? :p Different strokes for different folks I guess but I've found the game immensly fun, one of the best FPS games around, though I haven't actually played it since COD4 came out (COD4 is also awesome).

Engineer took over from the Spy as my most played class. I always make it my do-or-die mission to set up a teleport to the enemy intelligence chamber on 2fort as an engi. I have played a little as a Medic but not much - while they are always useful to have around the 'fun per minute' quota is lower with them than other classes I find.
