Tech Cost Bug

Judging by the post date, could it be COTM01?
Yes. There's only one game running currently.

Question, does this affect the cultural victory requirements?
They'll be whatever the standard C3C requirement is. Classic Civ3 requires 100k and twice the next highest, or 20k in one city, both are independent of map size. Is C3C different?

Yes, C3C is different. The Victory whatever it's called screen (the one at F8) tells you what the threshold is, and it's 100K this for this months game.

Thanks Dianthus. Forgive my ignorance, but C3C is a closed book to us Mac players.

You're obviously not a real Civ Fanatic, if you was you'd buy a PC just to play C3C, no matter how much you hate PC's and Windoze ;).

I didn't think the ability to blow hundreds of dollars on an otherwise redundant piece of hardware and M$ bloatware was a condition of entry for this site  :p

It is a second rate system and the hackers do spend all of their time trying to bring it down. BUT, sometimes it is just easier to ride the horse in the direction it is going. ;)

The Conquests cultural domination requirement for a huge map is normally 160K. But for some reason this map has the 100K goal which is for a standard map. A good thing, that might have thrown some people :) ("What?!?!? I need another 60K?!?!?!?")

Not if you're ..... Don Quixote !

PS And what's that about “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”? (Edmund Burke)

Phew! This is my first attempt at a GOTM. I thought the tech seemed to be running a bit slow. I'm glad to hear that it's not my skill (or lack there of).

Actually, IIRC, in the beginning of his journey, he let's the horse decide where to go.

I can't rush great wonders with leaders. Is this normal for Conquest?
there are 2 types of great leaders in conquests, scientific and military. for cotm, the scientific type is turned off. the military type can form army's or rush improvements & small wonders. it cannot rush wonders.

during a non-cotm C3C game, you have a 3% chance of getting a scientific great leader if you research a tech 1st. this type can be used to rush a great wonder or boost science research for 20 turns.

look here -> http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=89805&page=4&pp=20 for explainations of some of the changes between vanilla civ/PTW and C3C. 1/2 down the page, sir pleb starts a discussion on the differences that should help you.

good luck :)

That explains why corruption was so low in my game - and why the AI was so far behind in tech all the time. I dont think I had more than one tech trade after the first age in the whole game!

Ainwood orijionated this post and I quote.
"As yet, I have no idea what has caused this bug (I can't reproduce it in a 'new' game), but it does affect all three GOTM classes. Its not great, but you're all on a level-playing field."

the bug is caused because in the cvc editor you need to set all the settings under World Size tab to be the same or it causes problems. At least this is what i have experienced.

excuse spelling plz.
