Welcome to our first Culture Ministry, with me, Curufinwë, once more as Minister of Culture, or whatever title they've given me. The first term will have a little to do, though not much, and I hope to get everything started up well. If you have anything you want to bring up relating to culture, anything at all, bring it up and I, or whoever else in this Ministry are here, will deal with it. I hope to work synergistically with the other departments, towards the promotion of our nation. Finally, I'm adamantly committed to the principle of democracy and ministerial responsibility, and should a poll say that the people no longer want me, I would resign. I'll finish up some more here in the morning.

Congrats Curufinwe! I wish you the best of luck of getting us culture without using fastfood chains or theme parks.

Interesting office. It's very cultural... I think.

Grats Curufinwe!

only one request here...may i have a temple named after me? perhaps just a little side chapel even? lol (jk)

To my deputy: In my absence (from the 2nd to the 7th) please ask the science advisor to get Ceremonial Burial or Masonry first, with the other second. (or as close to first as possible) on our research list, and then get them to go for Literature, or perhaps Mysticism. Please obey citizen polls at all times.

By the way, I know many of you will think this should have been posted in a PM, but personally I feel it best for the public to know exactly what I've done, in every case, and to hold me accountable for it. Good luck to my deputy.

Oh, by the way, who's the deputy.

If we take it the old way, we could have multiple deputy positions at the same time, meaning that it would be Chieftess.

But if we consider the the unexisting ruleset of our nation forbids it, then it would be me.

So, what's happening here?

Are there any specific wonders that are being aimed for?

Fier- I've absolutely no idea, which is why I always refer to the deputy as that, not a specific person.

blackheart- That'll be decided by a citizen poll, which I'll be posting soon enough.

I remind the Minister that as Japan, and religious we begin with Ceremonial Burial.

(Westminister parliamentary rules)

Oh yes. Madame Speaker, I'd like to remind the member from Southern Alberta that his advice is always welcome. His input is always welcome. I'd like to thank him once more.

Madame Speaker! As well, I'd like to rise on a Point of Order. The member from Southern Alberta did not direct his comments through the chair, and has thus violated parliamentary rules.

(OOC: Again, parliamentary type talk. It's really more fun that it would seem. Now, who is the Speaker?)

Monsieur le Président de l'assemblée,
I'd like to propose the adoption of a blame motion against his honorable Curufinwë, Minister of Culture, for his uncanadian behaviour making cynic remarks against our beloved western fellows.

[/canadian parlementary attitude] By the way, Chieftess has confirmed that I am the deputy of culture, via a PM.

So, i've got to get culture.

Mister/Madame Speaker! I would like to remind the honourable Deputy Minister of Culture that he can not use the name of a fellow deputy (as in a representative) in this Chamber, taht being your sole right and privilege. As well, I congratulate him on his finding of culture.

Mr./Mme. Speaker, as well I would like to give the following instructions to the Deputy Minister. Would the Deputy Minister please, in my asbence, hold a poll regarding which wonder it is we would like to prioritize. IT would be preferable if this were in the multi-choice format, though of Course Mr./Mme. Speaker, that is not a neccessity.

OOC: I think, bar Moderator intervention, I shall continue to speak like this in this thread, simmply because it is amusing. and Fier, love the French. Whta a beautiful language.

My very honorable President,
As per his honorabe Minister's recommendation, I will take the liberty of creating a disussion thread and a poll addressing the issue of wonder building.

I would also recommand the foundation of a culture registry, listing all cultural buildings and wonders that we possess, their location and the year of their building.

Furthermore, I am glad to take care of his honorable Minister ministry while he cannot attend the House of Commons.

Monsieur/Madame Speaker:

As the member for New South Wales I would like you to convey my deepest congratulations to the Minister for Culture and the Deupty Minister for Culture. Please also convey the best wishes of the people of my constituency.

Monsieur/Madame Speaker I would also like to ask that the Deputy Minister for Culture's blame motion be rescinded, and instead be replaced with a motion of censure. Perhaps the Deputy Minister would concur?

* I can see myself spending a lot of time in hear - love the language!!! :)

Mr. Speaker, I would like to propose, in stead of my honorable Minister and before this noble assembly, the archival in our Nationnal heritage protection program of this piece of artwork, creation of her honorable Vice President:
Chatting In The Moonlight (based on "Dancing in the moonlight")

We get it on most every night
When that old moon gets so big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was chattin' in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark, and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

chattin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's chattin' in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight
You can't chat and stay uptight
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was chattin' in the moonlight

chattin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's chattin' in the moonlight

[break]

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark, and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was chattin' in the moonlight

chattin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's chattin' in the moonlight

chattin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's chattin' in the moonlight

[After at least two hours of questions and discussion, the proposition is put to vote, where it wins with 85% of the votes, the 15% nay-voters all wearing a strange blue and white tie. From a source inside the parliement, they voted against the proposal because "equal rights and representation of the minoristic languages communities would require that this text be translated in all the spoken language of our countries", go figure...]

Mr Speaker, my duties of Culture Deputy have required me to refer to the people about our nationnal standing toward Wonders.

For Archival purposes, the referendum is located here.

This referendum has been initiated to give his Honorable Minister sufficient information to better serve the Will of our people.

The Honorable Deputy Minister of Science Requests the floor!
Hear yee, hear yee, ipso facto habeus corpus, ectera, ectera. I wish to bring up the matter of wonders and the techs that enable them.
Science has been pushing in the direction of possibly persuing the monarchy path, while culture has been urging the lit/republic path. i ask to continue this discussion in these hallowed halls.

with respect
Deputy Minister SaaM

Mr. Speaker,
As show by this progressing poll, our people, or at least 21 of them, want the Pyramids to be built, out of 35. That is sufficient information to say that the people might want us to actualy get the Pyramids. This means that we should think about getting Masonry.

The second comer in this poll is the Great Library, thus showing support for the Literature path.

The Hanging Gardens and the Oracle, representants of the Monarchy path, are being in the 3rd and 5th position as I speak.

Thus it is showed that the Literature path currently rally more support than the Monarchy one, and that Masonry should be resaerched as soon as possible.

The Honorable Science deputy would be welcomed to invite his Honorable Minister to these halls for further discussion of the mater.

I return from an odd game of men in pinstripes beating men in green with a ball and a stick, honorable Deputy of Culture.

I see this trend myself. Perhaps heading towards literature would not be a bad idea.
How about we poll the issue? a Joint Poll, would you say?

Mr. Speaker,
I'd like to remind his Honorable Deputy of Science that he is not allowed to talk directly, nor to name someone in these halls.

However, I will remind our noble assembly that the leading is not toward Literature itself right now, but more toward Masonry.

This being said, I will gladly join the hard work of my functionnaries to that of the Ministry of Science, for the Will of the People is paramount.
