Term 2 - Office of the Warlord

How good are chariots against axemen in Vanilla Civ?

rubbish
complete rubbish

yes becuase wars are fought by running away

Chariots aren't my first choice in offensive units... but until the Copper gets hooked up to the trade network... It's the best we've got for now... though Copper should be hooked up soon.

Assuming I'm doing the math right, we have about a 44% chance of a Chariot to defeat an Axeman (excluding additional bonuses/promotions).
Along with a 20% chance to withdraw.

The Axemen we do see have Combat I, so odds are closer to 42%, however giving our Chariots Combat I puts the odds back at 44%.

Also swordsman has a 44% base chance as well (due to the 50% Melee bonus the Axemen have)

Then of course Axemen vs. Axemen... 50% chance of course.

And Keshik has a 55% chance of victory, base.

Also, right now I'm thinking giving all Chariots with promotions Combat I.

How about one with flanking one and then sentry for wartime?

Copper will be hooked up in two turns.

Also, right now I'm thinking giving all Chariots with promotions Combat I.

Why give them promotions now? It seems better to me to let them run around unpromoted.
