Term 4 - Director of Infrastructure - Soon to be "I've been workin' on the railroad."

I have completed a copy of the railnet. However, it is a huge file, and I cannot upload it yet (I am contacting TF to see if I can upload a file bigger than 3 MBs) as it is 3.6 MBs (yes, that's zipped, and in the zip is a PNG file that I saved as a JPG, and I saved that JPG as a GIF. The quality is truly bad, but it works. Better than a 17 MB PNG file. ). For now, if you would like a copy, please email me at ale.of.ginger HOLDSHIFTAND2 gmail INSERTPERIODHERE com . You have been warned.

Why not split it up into 2 files? Call one West, and another East (or North/South)

Not sure why you're having such quality problems, I just uploaded a reasonable quality full world map at just over 2MB JPG. Oh yes and HOLDSHIFTAND2 doesn't work on a non US keyboard (gives a " on a UK one) ;) but I think we know what you mean....

2 Seperate files may be a better idea anyway though, I used to print the instructions out to application switching and so I could mark them off as I did them, 1 big map may end up a bit small to read!

Just a question for the DoI in the event that we get electricity. Do you plan to create electrified rails after we discover electricity? ;)

If you're thinking about that 3rd rail... don't. :p

Let Jamie and Adam do that. ;)

No, I was refering to the overhead catenary :p.

Like these...

We *will* use our newfound irrigation technologies though. ;)

Chieftess, it turns out Spichester is becoming pretty productive, however, with rails coming, isn't it better to chop all the forests down for ~30 to 40 shields, and mine/railroad them to get extra food?

Director,

First of all: congratulations on your landslide victory!

Then to business: please let me know if and when you will be needing any more workers. And please irrigate one of the grasslands near Roosting Tree, so that it may grow a bit faster and larger. This is not a high priority, but if you have some idle workers nearby...

Question about the railnet map...

What are those extra numbers?

i.e.
Regentham [1]
Aqueduct 2 [+12]

Oxford
Marketplace: 0 [+25]

The numbers are from CivAssist II.

It's:

City Name: Growth in # of Turns
What it is Producing: Turns Left [Excess Shields]

I'm not quite sure about the last thing, excess shields, but I think that is the right answer. I know it isn't spt.

I am working on a better quality one.

GA,

I have another request: Mandos is capable of building the IronWorks, and will probably start to do that soon. I would like to have railroads on the plains and hills within Mandos territory to speed up growth and production.

Thank you for your consideration.

Director of Infrastructure's Instructions for 1010 AD

Note: Here is the railnet image.

All workers, except the ones listed below should work the railnet after they complete current tasks if they have any (ie; mining a mountain).

6 Slaves NE of Bellopolis: Finish clearing jungle, then road tile and irrigate.

Slave NW of Bellopolis: Finish mining then move N and clear marsh.

2 Workers and 2 Slaves NW of Peckopolis: Finish clearing marsh then road tile and move NW and irrigate previously mined game tile.

Worker and 6 Slaves NW of Gingerbread City: Finish clearing jungle, then irrigate tile and then work on railnet.

Worker and Slave SE of Gingerbread City: Finish clearing jungle then irrigate and then work on railnet.

And yet another request: please irrigate the mined bananas near Liveratica. Not a high priority, but it will give some extra food for settler production (and the mine is useless there).

GA, I request you to work the following titles. These will aid in the production or stablity of the cities.

  • Irrigate and RR the horse east of Oxford please
  • RR SW of Naples (to stop it from starving)
  • Mine and RR coal SW of NaN19
  • Deforest and irrigate Banana 2NW of NaN10
  • Road N of Arphaville on rubber

This is all for now. Thank you
