Term 4 Nominations for Cheif Justice

Sorry to break it to you, but Curufinwe was Chief Justice years before we had even heard of Black_Hole. I think he easily wins the "experience" competition.
Just because he is the first doesn't mean he has the most experiance, I believe I have served a judiciary member more times than him.

This is "bad form" in my opinion. This is similar to a political party saying only vote for our party.

I have no problem with black_hole and would vote for him but its comments like this that hurt candidates. DZ you turned off a hold bunch of "newcomers" with this comment.

I would sure like to see black_hole come out and distance himself from such a less than appropriate endorsement.
I don't understand the big problem with voting for a person based on their experiance.
In fact, many people vote for newcomers to get fresh blood into the game, and I don't see people get mad there.

It wasn't just because he said vote for the one with experience. He wants the enitre court filled with his guys that will "put the train back on the track" so to say. This can be taken as an underhanded way to say that new people have hurt the DG. It was the way he said his whole comment, along with the way other people have been acting.

Several times I have asked questions and the response was to go look at an old DG thread. When one is new to the DG, all of these threads become confusing. To tell a new person to go look through hundreds of pages of threads to find the answer is not very helpful to new people. I know no one does this on purpose, but it keeps the lurkers from being more active.

I agree that there should be an even mix of new and old blood in the DG. If it's all old blood, there is little chance for more people to join and get involved. Nor do I want to see all new blood in office. However, sometimes we need to let new people into office and let them make mistakes. They will learn from their mistakes. However, if you jump on them for every mistake they make and create huge, confusing JRs and such, they will not want to come back after they have learned.

Sorry to go on such a rant. Experience is a good thing, but that should not be the sole evaluation on a candidate. I do not currently harbor any bad feelings for anyone, I just want people to get along better and start thinking about how their actions look in the eyes of others.

This is an unfortunate development, and now I feel that I have let down those that I respect as well. Anyone who knows me, knows that stumping for an "old boy's club" is the furthest thing from my character. And, no, Oldbus....I don't expect you to scan the archives to learn this for yourself. I should be more careful with my words :)

Lamentably, I am been focused on the foibles of the Term 3 Judiciary, and wish to avoid a repeat performance that would come from placing some of the major players from that debacle at center stage for the next month.

I guess my problem is that I play this game like we as a nation have nothing to lose, so I afford myself the opportunity to make bold statements such as this. It just that I neglected the clarify in this case that the focus of my ire was limited to just two "newcomers," one which has actually been active in the Demogame series longer than I have!

Now, my unfortunate statement will have the exact opposite effect than was intended, and as punishment I may get to watch as my sour warning is proven correct in the coming term. I truly hope that you can all look beyond my foolish choice of words so that you can understand the true intent of my post, and vote accordingly.

Please refer to the Presidential election thread for my public apology. I am sorry to have let you all down.
