Nominations for Foreign Advisor

I accept my nomination :).

I nominate Donovan Zoi, I also back CG here, but this office needs to be contested to get a real election, and I want DZ to play a role he is comfortable with.

I third DZ and fourth CG.

Let me put in a plug for my deputy while I can. There was only one instance during this whole term that I asked CG to do something and he didn't live up to it, and that was at very short notice, with the whole Iroquois controversy, as I couldn't attend the TC or be online when it started, so I asked him to monitor the poll. This I stress was at very short notice, and in all other areas CG has proved to be a most capable deputy. When I have entrusted him with posting TC Instructions he has done it. When I have asked him to investigate options he has done that too. I know that in Term 2 there were some issues with his role in Trade, but I believe that as my deputy this term he has shown he has overcome that.

I like both candidates (if DZ accepts that is) but go CivGeneral! :)

Question 1: Do you believe we should give into demands from other nations? If so, what amount of stuff, and which nations?

Question 2: Do you envision signing any RoPs with any nations? (Or MPPs when we get Nationalism).

1. I beleve that we should not give into demands that involves techs, maps, gold, cities, and other tradable goods. If the demand is gold then it should be between 50-100g, no more, no less should be acceptible to keep them at bay.

2. I do forsee establishing MPPs with our smaller neighbors so that we can have a good standing for a good reputation in the near future. I dont however forsee signing any RoPs anytime soon.

OK, I made it home in time. I accept. :)

If for some reason I am disallowed from participating due to my late acceptance, I am fine with that.

CivGeneral was the only one running and wins uncontested. Sorry DZ, you were a minute late :(.

Congrats to CivGeneral

Missed it by a minute? Oh, well, I said I wouldn't make a big deal out of it, even though the decision was rendered by my opponent.........

Hehe....what a difference 4 minutes makes.

Hey, CG, look again! :D
It says "Oct 26, 2004, 08:01 PM" on your post

DZ can always be deputy (if that's fine with him).

You were one minute late for me too. :P
Thank you time keeper Ale, if you shall excuse me, I have an electon to take care of for the non-uncontested elections ;).

The 4 minutes remark was due to the election office being 5 minutes late to post the election, and my distance from tthat post. I have since edited it due to CG's 1 minute comment.

Nice to see that the Election Office can be late but I cannot. ;) As I've said, though, no great shakes.

I find that forum time is actually off of real life time. I am hitting post at exactly 8:23 according to official navy time. Or close anyway.

The above time makes Donovan Zoi 5 minutes late.

The starting and ending times of nominations and elections really should be in the Code of Laws somewhere so that we have a written reference.

Mine says "Oct 26, 2004, 08:00 PM"

And I think CG lives more eastern than I do, so would that count for the 1 minute difference?

As brought up by MOTH though, there is no law set in stone saying how much time he has or doesn't have.

Why not make a fair election out of this, we want to see some policy positions in a public debate. Besides, CT is the one to decide that. IU would also like someone to run againt in the military thread.
