This is the thread for Term 4 Nominations for Judge Advocate

Question to the candidates:

1) Using a specific example, in the CC just completed, would have been able to present effective arguements in support of the CC assuming you had not filed it?

2) In general, do you feel you are capable of presenting effective arguements for a CC that you personally are opposed to?

3) Describe your approach to making a ruling

1) Using a specific example, in the CC just completed, would have been able to present effective arguements in support of the CC assuming you had not filed it?
Yes, I think my past record on the court shows that I go through with cases, regardless of what I think of them(at least as CJ and Jd, I never had a CC when I was the public defender)
2) In general, do you feel you are capable of presenting effective arguements for a CC that you personally are opposed to?
Yes, I believe that I can argue for a complaint I am opposed to , If I feel that their is absolutely no reason for the complaint then I would recuse myself and let someone else deal with it

3) Describe your approach to making a ruling
First I look at the law in question, then when possible, I look for any past rulings by the court, and if I do not come up with an entirely clear answer based on that then I try to interret the law or question at hand on my own

1) Using a specific example, in the CC just completed, would have been able to present effective arguements in support of the CC assuming you had not filed it?

I would have argued that their was a Conflict of Interest, i would have outlined all of the backwards and forwards, flip flopery step the case has taken and then said that all the Confusion a Chief Justice must Recuse hisself if there is any risk at all of the court appearing impartial.

2) In general, do you feel you are capable of presenting effective arguements for a CC that you personally are opposed to?

Yes, i hate you all so i have no problem attacking anyone (Jokes) really though i have no problem arguing on anyside of any argument.

3) Describe your approach to making a ruling

Well in the case of a Judical Review the first thing i will look at is the Question the ChiefJustice puts to us. I will simply see what the Constitution, lower laws and case law say on the matter. Normally its just a matter of actually looking at the wording. First you follow the Golden rule, what the Law says is what it means. If you follow this you look at the Law in the context it was written. Finally if neither of these show a result you decide in favor of what is Fair and Right.

I fully support mhcarver in his run for Judge Advocate. :goodjob:
