I thought the only spam that was allowed in noms/election threads was nth-ing. Oh, well, as long as it is led by a mod...... I dare not post the forum rules here, as I remember the harsh lessons of the Term 4 Presidential thread.

People speak of our past as if we have something to be ashamed of, I don't think we do. When we were young nation we were attacked without provocation by the Iroquois. We defeated them, we did not seek retribution because it was early in the game, people attack each other early in a civilizations game. Thats life. Then we went and done the same thing to Rome. This wasnt personal it was business. If we hadnt taken there land then we would be dominated by civilizations that naturally had territory like France.
After this the nation was split, some wanted to launch similar wars against Babylon and Iroquois. Both wars would of been business wars to capture land and pay back two nations who had stabbed us in the back. I liked the idea for these wars, but People decided we shouldn't by doing this we matured as a civilizations. Up until then our foreign policy had been to grow and if some other nation had land we needed then they got their land taken from them. Up until then our foreign policy had been a success.
Then our policy failed, our people no longer wanted to invade our neighbours, we didnt want war for no reason. This is when our Foreign Department should of built relationships with the other civilizations. We should of given them gifts to get them on side, we should of signed right of passages with nations. If we had friendly relations with the world we would of been able to build our economy, we would of been able to get more profitable trades, we would of been able to grow our industry better if we did not fear invasion. Our culture could grow if it wasnt for war. But no gifts were given and no right of passages were signed, the whole world was angry at us, and We were invaded by the Iroquois. Our lack of foreign relations, meant that once again our soldiers went to out to die.
After this we got a new Foreign affairs minister, (my competitor) who said
If i am elected i can not guarantee that i will improve relations, because i have to obey the will of the people. But i will Pledge to the demo-game world that i will try my hardest to give gifts to our neighbours, to sign 'Right of Passage' agreements and to improve our relations around the world. If i am elected i will not declare war for no reason. I will not act aggressive to nations for no reason. (china) If we are threatened by our neighbours i will try all use diplomatic ways to stop them.
That is not to say i wouldnt declare war if i needed to. If the national security was threatened then I would advocate war. But only after all other avenues were exhausted.
So please I ask the people of Japanatican to vote for me. I know you guys tend to vote for people who have been around for along time. But look at the facts, Donovan Zoi is a incompetent foreign leader, I am new to the game I have not had a chance to prove I am competent. Why elect someone who quit after less than a day instead of someone new trying to get into the game. There is no reason to vote for him instead of me. Vote for what you know is right. A month after the Iroquois invaded us, more diplomatic failure has meant that we are on the edge of war with the Zulus. Our Friends the Zulus!!
