Don't forget donsig, eyrei, Octavian X, Civgeneral, Stuck_As_a_Mac, ...and there may be others. I'd have to think or a bit.

Donsig is hardly ever around, eyrei & Octavian_X doesn't actively partcipate anymore, and CivGeneral & SaaM were around late Demogame/Early DG2 era.

wow 15-14 this race is still close , though I admit that I voted for nobody for no good reason other than DZ's resignation last term after the controversy over him even getting on the ballot

Nobody, I didn't vote for you based on the actions of your opponent. I voted for you because you frequently display the properties of an able candidate, worthy of a shot at this job. This is dispite your poor grammar.

In defense of Donovan's actions last term: in European politics resignation is looked upon much differently than in the US. Resigning can be an act of protest against a government (as Donovan did last term), and is considered an acceptable action for an official to make as long as their conviction is strong enough (which it certainly seems to be in Donovan). Personally, I don't hold it against him. Obviously he didn't do it on a whim, it was after thought and after the two major setbacks he listed earlier. There's no reason to think it represents a lack of commitment to his post. On the contrary, it represents the fact that he has deep-rooted feelings on how the FA Ministry should be run. Perhaps it's time we let him enact the plans he feels should be done to bring about a better Japanatica.

Hey dude, Nobody likes you more than me, ok? :D

*finds out chickens aren’t hatched until there hatched*

ok its a draw so far, and its almost over. so heres my last minute attempt to convince people that they should vote for me.

So heres a recap for any of you last minute voters.

My Policy’s:

I want to establish good relations with the world. It is my belief that the reason we keep getting invaded is because we have no friends. I want to stop this by making friends with most of the world. Too do this I intend to launch two programs Operation Xmas Xchange and Operation Open Doors.
Operation Xmas Xchange: I want to give gifts to most of the world, these will not be trades or even considered aid they will be gifts to make friends. Right now only two nations are our friends, Giving gifts will make more. I believe making a rival civilization polite is worth giving away a luxury for 20 turns. (not just luxuries will be given). Most countries will be on my List and I will be checking it twice.

Operation Open Doors: I want to sign right of passage agreements with most of the world. This will make friends with the world, it will make them not want to attack us because we have a treaty. It will give us easier movement. I want to sign these with most of the world. We will even make a profit from this.

So far I have said that I want to give gifts and sign RoPs with most nations. The nations I want to exclude will be given my new stamp: Rogue State.

Rogue States: These will be nations who are threats to our nation. Who we consider us enemies. These are people who hate us and our way of life. No amount of gifts will change there annoyed attitude. For this reason we must not sign a right of passage with these rouge states as they will use them to attack us.

Apart from these policies I will create the new sub office of National Security Officer.

There responsibility will be to watch out for any threats to our nation. They will look for potential enemy attack verus japanatica and our allies, they will also look for possibility of another nation winning the game e.g. culture, space race. then report back to me and you guys.

All of these policies are in no way binding as I will start discussion and then poll on all subjects.

Other than my in-game policies heres my out of game policies

I will keep up to date, I am on here lots and read lots, uni just finished holidays began, I have way to much spare time.

I will poll fairly. no doctrinal dodgy polls. No : Yes, No (this means yes) Abstain (we will burn down the capital)

Plus I am honest and such.

So ok everyone conclusion if you vote for me I will work hard and to the best of my ability keep the peace.

(Notice I didn't mention that Donovan Zoi stabbed the voters in the back last time he was voted .)

Here's a concern both of you can answer about ROPs...

We have rails now. This means that, if we had an ROP, the AI can reach any of our cities in one turn. How can you assure us that they won't use that to sneak attack us, like the Zulus are attempting to do? They'll head for our least defended city.

OK, my rougue states stamp, would ideally only allow France, Babylon and Rome (this may change depending on the WOTP). These nations should not attack us because we will give them gifts to get them on side, then they will see the benefits of trading with us. Of course there is no gurantees they are the AI, but if we keep a modern defense force the Rewards should out weigh the risks. Plus they will take a big Reputation hit. (in dont know if they really care) Also if our relationship ever gets strong enough to warant a MMP then they will be less likey to attack. We could have the worlds biggest military, a rop, a mmp, and be there only source of Oil and rubber but some dumb AI will still attack. There is always risk.

EDIT: This was unreadble now it is semi-readable.

You can look at the timezones on your system clock. Just double click the time. Anyway, the polls are closed.

VICTORY!!!!

Okay okay clam down everyone, i have a few words to say.

As this is my first election win, i don't really know what winners are meant to say, so i decided to say thank you.

Thankyou to all those who voted for me (and Mr Abstain). Without you i wouldnt of won so well, thanks :thanx:

Thankyou to people who helped me with my campaign particuly Provolution and moss, you have both done me a personal service which i will repay at any time. :thanx:

Thank you to Donovan Zoi, you ran a great campaign and almost beat me. Also thanks for retireing (the elections over Quit is a little harsh) if you haddnt i wouldnt of had a chance. now we get to work together. :thanx:

Not quite. I'm contesting this election, as I had a right to voice my opinion which was denied to me, and that opinion would have changed the outcome. I hereby call for a runoff in which I may participate.

But I do give you points for saying something to your oppenant. It's nice when the victor is magnanimous, instead of publically humilating his opponent at every possible instant. ;)

Moderator Action: I am taking that ("...which was denied to me") as questioning a moderator action relating to the pm that I replied to. You were banned because of the forum rules. I don't care if you're running for a posistion in the demogame, creating a scenario in C&C, posting a debate in OT, or whatnot. You still need to follow the forum rules. Consider this a very strong warning.
Please read the forum rules: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=422889

Donovan Zoi steps up to the podium:

Thank you, everyone. And thank you for staying hopeful in this late hour as we sort out the election results. Although recounts are still taking place in Odawara, I can assure that we will not have the numbers needed to bring home a Zoi victory tonight.

And to be honest, that is just as well. I have already called my opponent and congratulated him on running such a fine campaign. He touched on the one key issue that was strong enough to hand me my first electoral defeat in ages. For this, he has earned my heartfelt respect, as well as my gratitude.

You see, I have been the embodiment of the entitled class for far too long, and needed to be knocked down a peg. It actually feels good to have lost in a campaign that was not only about the issues of the day, but also about the relevancy of the service that one pledges when elected. I will remember this lesson for quite some time.

In the end, I would like to thank all who supported me, and those who understood my reasons for resignation last term. I would like to thank all who posed important questions to the candidiates. And lastly, I would like to thank Nobody in particular. You earned it, and yes, you rock.

Much like last term with a small diference, I look forward to serving Nobody's interests in the coming term. :D I think it will be one to remember.

Respectfully,

Donovan Zoi
Deputy Foreign Minister-elect

donovan you should clear some of your PMs, cause we will need to discuss FA things

What do you mean? My email just sent me a reminder saying that "Nobody tried to send me a private message......" ;)

Oh, wait. I get it. And don't call me Gramps! :nono: :D

BTW, all clear.

It...was....denied...to...me....privately, in essentially those same words....I'm not questioning anything, I'm stating a fact. I pmed two moderators, asking, specifically, if I could be unbanned early to vote. That was denied. :dubious:

That should be a clear signal to you that you, and/or demogame rules are not above forum rules.
