This is a nifty little thing to help non tech savy people see if their comp can run Civ4.
Go to

and scroll down and click the Can my pc run this game? thingy.
It scans your comp to see what you have and stacks it agasint the minimun and reconmended stuff.
It doesn't seem to install spyware.. but use at your own risk :S.
