Does anyone know which file's palette is used for the colors of the text on the advisor screens? I'm making new screens for LotM, and the magenta shadow on the text looks awful on the backgrounds. I tried changing the magenta in the advisor screens and Art\pallete.pcx (which I have a feeling isn't actually used by the game) to another color but neither had any effect.

A very good "?". Sorry I don't have the answer. I'd like to know that for all the text in game. Due to running into a wall with my interface mod, for some reson black letters don't like to show on a black background.:hmm: I wonder why:crazyeye:

It may be that civ use some basic font everyone has on the comp, so that it's not connected to civ very much at all...
But then I'm a bit slow atm...

I think Mrtn's on to something. I think Civ3 uses a default system font. I remember on my old computer Civ3 used something resembling the Times New Roman font; whereas on my newer machine it runs Arial font.
So what's that have to do with color? It, unfortunately, would mean that the color depends on the default font set-up for everyone's home machine (which is probably black in 100% of the cases).
Now, there are certain commands in the civilopedia to change font shape (italics, bold, etc) and technically color by using the hyperlink command, but I don't believe there is anything there we can use :undecide:.

Yes, Civ III text looks different on my new Asian computer from how it did on my old British one. Slightly smaller, too, which is why some of the pedia entries I've written since changing computers are too long.

Quinzy, didn't you say sometime that you messed with the standard fonts on your computer? Or am I confusing you with some random fluctuations in the time warp?

yeah. i really messed with it.. so i suppose its not so relevant in this case..

Yes civ is pointed to use a system font otherwise the font would be included in te program files however the color for the font has to be determined elsewhare I would look carefully through all the text documents for anything pertaining to font color hopefully this sint something that is hard coded.
