Text Glitchy

Hello

I'm using:

Intel Core2Duo E8500
Geforce 8800GTX
4GB RAM

Windows 7 (x64) - but I've had the issue on other operating systems.

Civilization 4 patch 1.61
Civilization 4 BTS patch 3.71

And my text looks like this:



This basically makes the game unplayable because I can't read most things as the "fuzzyness" is even worse when the text is smaller.

Font is installed, still get glitchy text.

are the graphics drivers uptodate?
is anti-aliasing off?

IE - should I force it off in my nvidia control panel?

Drivers are definitely up to date. I'll do a full reinstall and see if I have any luck.

yes, force it off - you can try it first in the ingame options - but I actually mean setting it to off in the driver settings.

Okay, I've switched anti-aliasing off ingame and also forced it off with NVIDIA Control Panel. Still have the issue.

I'm running Civilization 1.74 Final with Beyond The Sword 3.17.

if you have not done so already update directx9c from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en
it will not affect the DirectX10/11 install that 7 comes with - but the game was not made for dx10/11 - so it *might* help

Tried that, no luck - the DX setup just says I have the latest (as far as I'm aware I have the latest DX9 updates installed), so no joy
