When I download the mod, of course I get a .exe file, which of course Macs can't open. Is there a website anywhere hosting the files in a .zip folder, or perhaps a program that opens .exe files and installs the mod? I've been eager to play this for some time.

Thanks.

Sometimes Stuffit Expander can open those, anyway, if they're just a self-extracting exe......

I got a lot of the graphics to work and such because of a friend who has a PC that opened it for me. However, a lot of the in-game text is messed up. Such as, "Gold" is replaced with "Embassy" and when I establish a city it says, "This deal will be canceled once war is redeclared." or something like that. And the start-up screen for a game was pretty messed up on options for victory and on difficulties.

Any ideas as to what this might be? I was forced to delete and re-install Civ3 because of this mod and because of the 1.29 update.

It sounds to me as if the files were for PTW, or for an older version of Civ3 than your Mac version. The Mac version should work with files created for PC version 1.29, but I think there were file format changes between the main releases.

how to transfer it? Thanks.
If you have installed the extras that come with VPC you should be able to drag and drop files between the Windows desktop and the Mac desktop.

Once you can do that it's a case of running the .exe to create the PC file/folder structure, then dragging the mod files from the PC into the equivalent locations in the Mac Civ3 installation.

Well, there's a PTW version of the mod, and I made sure that I didn't get that one. This specific mod does an installation through a program ontop of your Civ3 if you have a PC. So maybe some files that I don't get from the .exe installation (even transferring files from a PC) are causing it to mess up.
