So I'm giving Gaul a try. I am more of a "tall player". I like to get my core of cities and develop them, build-up to either culture, diplomacy or science victory. So in my first play with Gaul, I find myself with Gorgo and Sparta as my neighbor. She forward settles right up to my capital and main city. I thought about doing a surprise war at the end of the first era so I wouldn't get hit with grievances but I forgot that feature isn't in the game anymore. I'm sitting on my land, building my main units. Got about 5 Gaestae and three archers. She Surprise War on me. I fend off her first wave, the stacking bonus of Eubones is something else. I then start steamrolling her and plucking up her cities one by one. I know I have to kill her, she won't seek peace, but she does try twice to get an emergency set on me which fails both times. Awwwweeee poor wittle Gorgo, started a war she can't finish. Thanks for all the free land!
