The 19 civs that should be in Civ 4

Everyone puts Alexander for Greece, because Alexander was born from a family that came from Argos, and started a Kingdom called Macedonia. Alexander promoted Hellenism and his people spoke Ancient Greek.

Agammenon came from the Peloponessian City Mycenae. He and his brother Menelaos were Doric, which means they came from Illyria. Menelaos took the throne at Sparta capital to the Dorics, and their hostilities were not as widely accepted amoung Hellenes or for that matter the world.

Sparticus was Greek from Thrace. He led the slave revolt in Magna Graecia against Rome. He was proud to announce he was Greek just as Alexander was proud of being Greek. They both fought wars to promote Hellenism. They built governments to speak Greek and teach education in Greek and build libraries filled with books written in Greek.

The Great Library of Alexandria, built after Alexander the Great layed inland from the Phastos or The Great Lighthouse in Greek. Alexandria is the largest city in the world and brought out many Greek thinkers.

Jews that celebrate Channakah of being suppressed by the Greeks, these were the Syrian-Greeks left over from the Empire Alexander created. Syrians today come from these people. Assyrians have direct bloodline to there Semetic Ancestors. Chaldean peoples that follow the Chaldo-Assyrian Christian Church in today's world are Semetic and live in the bordering territories of the Greek-Arab Syria.

Macedonians that are of Slavic orgin came at the end of the Byzantine Era. They built cities within the Macedonian region and when the Kingdom of Thessaloniki existed, still Greeks held power. Slavs in the Former YugoSLAV Republic of Macedonia want to fufill the ambitions of Communist Ally "Tito" who told the world he was equal to Lenin. He had reigned and spread Communism throughout the Balkans, and when the League of Nations promoted Nationalism, the compromise over Tito building a Naval force made him think of a great idea. The region of Macedonia was being split between Bulgaria, Albania, Greece and Yugoslavia. Bulgaria acted against the allies so they held no claims to Thrace or Macedonia. Tito wrote speeches to the Slavs in the Slavic Speaking villages telling them it was them that came from Alexander the Great. But when Tito was asked to read artifacts from the Macedonian scripts he could not. Only one attending group was able to read the ancient artifacts: the Greeks. Why?

Because Macedonians aparantly not only spoke Greek and came from Greece, they also wrote in Greek too. What a surprise...

Just keep the same civilizations already included in Civ3, PTW, and conquest except the Hittites and Zulus. They can be replaced by Judea or The Hebrews(with Moses, David or Solomon as their leader) and Abyssinia(Ethiopia) with Menelik as their leader. The Hebrews can be Religios and Industrious whereas the Abyssinians can be agricultural and religious.

Other considerations: Ireland, Austria, The Huns, Vietnam, and Kush.

Also, George Washington should be the leader for the Americans.

@HANNIBAL: Or George Bush
Huns are good, Austria is good too, Vietnam not sure. I don't know a lot about Kush, though. Zulus may be replaced by Abyssinia, but Hittites is good. And I think you are way over 19!!!

Quebec civ is good!!!

If u wanna bash the presidents why not make it nixon or clinton?

Because when they lied, nobody died.

Clinton was a quite good one, I think. I don't know everything in US politics, eing from Qc, but I think that between Bush father & son and Clinton, I go for Clinton 100%.
How funny is that. In Canada, there is no limitation and we have bad JC crétien for a long time, and in US, you have clinton and HAVE to replace it with bad Bush because you have limitations. Lets swap constitution!!

No persia, babylon, sumeria, guge, or Iriqous?

Sorry but what are you talking about graad?
Is it a suggestion? A comment on someones list? Who's list?

os, sorry I was commenting on the original list i didn't notice there were two pages

ignore my comment

How about just a database of different civs in the game and have the player be one of them. If its not available upon game release it can be dl from the site when your register your game. Each of us has our fav civ that we enjoy playing, but also I do not much like the whole limited strength based on whether you are industrial, commercial, scientific, etc. That part of the game I would liek to see totally removed from the civ.
The only other thing I can see a problem with, is the tech tree, at least when it comes to the game advisors screen. If you do not follow a set path, specific to your civ, you have a lot more discontent. Each civ though now, having their own strength and weaknesses, is based upon historical facts, how can one rewrite history of their civ, if the civ has an existing template.
Toss out the set civ templates, toss out the advisors, have an open-ended tech tree, let the player create their own civ. Let the AI choose from set civ templates for the game.
Who knows, there might be a player that would want to portray the Davidians :crazyeye:

I know I'm over 19, but I would asssume that there will be expansion packs to Civ4.

Anyway, Kush conquered Egypt after Egypt was conquered by Libyans Pharoahs. They were basically black Egyptians because their civ had been long dominated by Egypt. I believe the 25th Dynasty(Pharoah) was a Ku****e. They were forced out of Egypt by the Hittites or Assyrians. Anyway, the Zulus are too warlike and unlike Abyssinia, they have never done anything in history but conquer neighboring tribes. THen again adding the Huns, probably would not be any better in that regard.

Vietnam beat the French for independence and outlasted the Americans in the Vietnam War. They are tough people. It would be nice to see them with Ho Chi Minh as leader.

The Phoenicians intoduced the world to the modern alphabet. they were also a trading and shipbuilding power. I suppose Carthage has them covered though.

Zulu contributed more to Africa than Mongolia contributed to Asia, once you cancel out war-likeness. But I agree. I figure both Zulu and Mongolia should be out and make way for civilizations that did more than dominate a hunk of land. Replace them with Abyssinia and Mali.

Well, two civilizations are confirmed -- the Indians and the Mongols. The Indians were guaranteed already, of course, and the Mongols seemed very likely after their omission from Vanilla Civ3, but it is minor news.

(Both are confirmed by references to their leaders - "Gandhi" and "the Khan".)

Your (that is, the creator of this thread's) list is definitely too eurocentric for my tastes.

Asia
China
India
Japan
Khmer

Europe
Celt
