Everyone puts Alexander for Greece, because Alexander was born from a family that came from Argos, and started a Kingdom called Macedonia. Alexander promoted Hellenism and his people spoke Ancient Greek.
Agammenon came from the Peloponessian City Mycenae. He and his brother Menelaos were Doric, which means they came from Illyria. Menelaos took the throne at Sparta capital to the Dorics, and their hostilities were not as widely accepted amoung Hellenes or for that matter the world.
Sparticus was Greek from Thrace. He led the slave revolt in Magna Graecia against Rome. He was proud to announce he was Greek just as Alexander was proud of being Greek. They both fought wars to promote Hellenism. They built governments to speak Greek and teach education in Greek and build libraries filled with books written in Greek.
The Great Library of Alexandria, built after Alexander the Great layed inland from the Phastos or The Great Lighthouse in Greek. Alexandria is the largest city in the world and brought out many Greek thinkers.
Jews that celebrate Channakah of being suppressed by the Greeks, these were the Syrian-Greeks left over from the Empire Alexander created. Syrians today come from these people. Assyrians have direct bloodline to there Semetic Ancestors. Chaldean peoples that follow the Chaldo-Assyrian Christian Church in today's world are Semetic and live in the bordering territories of the Greek-Arab Syria.
Macedonians that are of Slavic orgin came at the end of the Byzantine Era. They built cities within the Macedonian region and when the Kingdom of Thessaloniki existed, still Greeks held power. Slavs in the Former YugoSLAV Republic of Macedonia want to fufill the ambitions of Communist Ally "Tito" who told the world he was equal to Lenin. He had reigned and spread Communism throughout the Balkans, and when the League of Nations promoted Nationalism, the compromise over Tito building a Naval force made him think of a great idea. The region of Macedonia was being split between Bulgaria, Albania, Greece and Yugoslavia. Bulgaria acted against the allies so they held no claims to Thrace or Macedonia. Tito wrote speeches to the Slavs in the Slavic Speaking villages telling them it was them that came from Alexander the Great. But when Tito was asked to read artifacts from the Macedonian scripts he could not. Only one attending group was able to read the ancient artifacts: the Greeks. Why?
Because Macedonians aparantly not only spoke Greek and came from Greece, they also wrote in Greek too. What a surprise...
