The 2000 Hour Club...

Steam says I have 3560 hours. And still I cannot win about 19 out of 20 games on emperor(!) level. Hard to believe, but sadly true. Maybe I should kill myself.

Hang around on these forums more. I always played Civ IV and V on like, difficulty level 4 or 5, but I've been drowned in so many tactics in Civ VI that I can do a peaceful Deity victory.

Hi @Tuvok694. No, you definitely should not. And if you're at all serious about that last comment, you should talk to somebody and tell them you're feeling that way.

As awesome and complex as this game is, and as much replay value as it has, do you get bored of it after playing 2,000 hours of it?

*Hugs*
Remember, it's just a game. No one should off themselves because of a game. Besides, I think one should have just as much fun whether they are winning or losing, because playing games is about having fun, rather than winning.

Can't speak for anyone else, but sometimes. Thing is, I'm bored of all my other games. I can't really play a game for more than 10 or so hours without getting bored. Which makes Civ 6 the right length of game for me at this point in my life. I try to play differently in my games, I don't always play the same way.

Came back to check on expansion rumors, but you inspired me to check. Looking back at Civ V, I am sitting at 2,318 (DON'T JUDGE). Civ VI is at 1,896, so I am getting there.

Incidentally, my most played game is Stellaris (at 2,396), even though I stopped playing quite a while ago (and doubt I will pick up since I REALLY am not a fan of the direction and fundamental changes they made to the game).

Yep almost there too...1780 hours now.

But these are almost all real time play. I never let the game idle(maybe a huge 2 hours total?). Exclusively multiplayer. Also include approximatively 100 hours of pure intense lobby.

Turns have an average of 2 min.

(1780:ar15:- 100:scan:- 2:sleep:)*60 = 100 680 min. played
100 680/2 = 50 340 turns played! :eek::eek:

I never idle the game, have played 90-95% single player (sometimes hotseat) and have recently begun playing online with a friend. But I'm only at 1285 hours : P

Yes, I believe we've played a number of times in MP. Welcome to the club... soon :)

I did pass 2000 hours a few weeks ago. Currently at 2053. Took me a long time, but I got there. Not sure if I should be proud of that though. Not too much idle time, though sometimes I leave it going while I prepare/eat food. If I actually cook I usually shut it down.

Damn...and I thought I had a problem at 650 hours played. I'm glad to find I have brothers in the obsession. Is there a civfanatics MP lobby or meeting place? 90% of my hours are single player, but I feel like I need something to spice it up to reach 4 digits in hours played.

Sorry for the slow reply, but I haven't been on this site in many weeks.

Here is the MP area...

10002 hours?

Woah. That’s an average of 11 hours and 22 minutes a day if you started on release date 10/26/2016
