Last sunday night I was feeling pretty bored, I had nothing to do, so I went out and splashed a bit of my first pay packet on a Xbox 360 with Eldar Scrolls.

Now, Eldar Scrolls is amazing and I've been playing it non stop since I got the system but I'm looking into buying more games and I'm kinda stuck.

In all the years since I've been playing consoles (back to the NES) this is the first time where I've ever bought a console almost as soon as it's came out. All the other times (NES, SNES, Playstation, PS2 etc) I've gotten it for Christmas, a year after it's release, or a year and a half etc so by that point there's quite a back catalogue of games to buy. The 6 months the Xbox has been released here means the number of games is pretty limited in comparrison.

As I said, I've got Eldar Scrolls and my bro bought FIFA World Cup: Road to World Cup so what other games would people recommend. As it was on sale (and also because all the magazines I've read have said it's amazing) I've ordered Fight Night 3 or whatever it's called as it should be a laugh but what else can I buy?

I'm not into racing games so they're all out. I've played Madden on my mate's system and thats definately up on my list but I'm looking for a new game I've not played before. Without a doubt I'd say go for Call of Duty 2, but with the third one coming out in a few months, is it worth it?

who else has a 360 here, and what's their highlights?

I have a 360 without a hard drive, so it's almost useless to play anything that needs saving. I only have two games, Dead or Alive 4 and the Elder Scrolls 4.

360 is really expensive. I wouldn't be able to afford it. :(

Bah, wait a year until it gets cheaper and by then the game companies will have had time to properly create games for the machine. That's when the good times start.

Okay, from the PC perspective person that I am.

Call of Duty 2 = brilliant. Get it.

Far Cry, how good is it? I've got two people telling me that it's great, but would like a wider opinion.

I like Far Cry a lot, but I know a lot of other people don't like how the aiming feels. If you'd be interested in its map editor, its a must buy, if not it'd be better to rent or something to see how you like it.

I have played Far Cry and I prefer Ghost Recon. I would suggest "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter" even without having got to play it yet. The Ghost Recon series is always a fun approach to FPS's. :D Far Cry is definatly fun though too.

my mates and I had a 360 night last night and we played a 4 player Ghost Recon Deathmatch. so much fun heh.

Husky: you can get memory cards can you not?

Memory cards only have 64 MB, and cost about half the price of a hard drive that has 20 GB. The hard drive also makes games load faster, crash less and allows some backwards compatibilty (the reason why we got the 360).

Far Cry is really quite fun, but its a crappy FPS, compared to CoD2. The aiming is terrible, and it definitely has some of the most memorable crappy writing ever.
GRAW is really good, I've played a few hours of it. Its really fun, and addicting. So I would recommend Call of Duty 2, Ghost Recon, Far Cry, and DOA4.
But buy Halo 2, even though its last gen. Its one of the best games I've ever played, especially online.

Cite Ice Climber vs. Super Mario 3

I found a good xbox 360 gun game called perfect dark zero. Ive played it, and its graphics and gameplay are pretty good.
Amped 3 is an awsome game as well.

You can buy them used for $20 0r $30 new each

Yeah I remember reading that, before the 360 came out, they were gonna make the console's "relatively" cheap and try to make money back on the games. I suppose they are HD-DVD's which are new out but hopefully they'll come down soon.

I just got Fight Night 3 in yesterday, not played it though cause I'm hopelessly addicted to Eldar Scrolls. I'm not gonna buy anymore games for a while. maybe even go as far to say I'm not gonna buy any games till CoD3 comes out. I suppose it really depends on if I ever get bored of Eldar Scrolls, but it's not looking likely atm. that game is MASSIVE.

I might buy G.R.A.W, but I'd mainly buy that for when I've got friends round

DON'T BUY PERFECT DARK ZERO!!! It is an awful game that gets extremely repetitive, and the AI is some of the worst that I have ever seen. STAY AWAY!!!

I never played the original Perfect Dark. After Goldeneye I just didn't see it get any better, so never tried.

I've been playing Fight Night Round 3 the past few days and I totally love it. the controls are genius, rather tyhan the whole a button to jab. b button to block etc. very very clever

But I've noticed a problem with the game. I played it for about an hour just there and when I took the game out it was crazy ass hot, like, really hot. I'm used to games gettign hot after marathon sessions cause thats what DVD's do (yes I know their HD-DVD's) but that disc was warmer than any disc I've seen before and I was only playing it for an hour

The original Perfect Dark was good. The new one leaves some to be desired even though it is very innovative, which is a shame, because if they had executed all the components well, it would have been fantastic. You really don't need another shooting game if you have Call of Duty and Ghost Recon.

Fight Night I played yesterday, and it's pretty sweet.
