In SouthernKing's absence here is the final tally to when 24 hours were up:
What's with making up random new rules? I don't see any mention of 24 hours in the rules nor in the discussion in the thread. The precedent set by last game is that a voting period ends whenever an update comes. Period.

All votes up until the update comes are counted.

If the host manages to arrive after precisely 24 hours, that's his or her choice. Up until the time that the host posts, all votes count.

THE RULES:
1. There will be a list of 20 CFCers below.
2. Every round, I will use a RNG to pick two CFCers. These two will be thrown into THE ARENA.
3. Everyone can then vote on the two people in the arena, except the two being voted upon. Even if you are not on the list, you can still vote. Votes must be in bold
4. The winner gets a win marked down, the loser gets a loss marked down. It is possible to have ties, but tied rounds do not count towards elimination at all.
5. I will then draw two more names, there is another vote. I try to make it so that if you are in the arena, there are 2 rounds until you are back in, but in later rounds this may not be possible.
6. If you get 2 losses, you are out of the game.
7. We keep playing until there is only 1 person left.
Kindly don't fabricate rules.

It's been 24 hours.
What's really interesting is that the first mention of this fabricated rule came from the one player in this thread who would benefit at the time. Under that circumstance, I don't see how this corruption could possibly be allowed. :crazyeye:

This round will end in 24 hours.
It will end when the host posts. If that happens to be you now, then when you post is when the voting will end. If you happen to be online at that time, good for you.

Round 5: Yoshiegg737 vs landlubber
My vote: landlubber Sorry Yoshi but why will be revealed later.
Wow, what? If you recall, SouthernKing, as the host, has chosen to be impartial and therefore not vote in the voting rounds. If you're seriously going to host some of the rounds, kindly show the same impartiality that SouthernKing shows and don't vote. I request that you retract your vote.

I'm pretty sure SK set a 24 hour time limit. Just sayin.

SK updates every 24 hours, its pretty much a rule.

Can you show evidence where he has discounted votes that have arrived before he posted, due to the timing of said votes?

A big difference of this game from other elimination games is that in other games, your name is ALWAYS UP (or your number is always up in the random elimination game), so you are always a target. Here, if your time zone is not the same as the host's or your CFC habit is not the same (morning poster versus after-school/work poster), then you could very easily arrive 18 to 23 hours after your name has come up EVEN IF YOU LOG ON AT LEAST ONCE A DAY!!! That situation doesn't leave much room to bribe people with promises of petrolium and hookers. :D

Imposing a strict 24 hour rule would take away from the fairness of this game. Let's try not to make all games equally generic with each other; the longer update time periods has been one of the charms that has made this game unique; let's not ruin it, particularly since none of us are the real host.

He doesn't, he uses them when he gets there. Plus, I have received word he can't get on CFC for a few days, so someone being the GM for that while is good.

Which is my point. Thank you.

Which is fine; all that I am asking is that the new host maintain a semblance of consistency with how the game was previously run, rather than running it in a manner similiar to his own game.

It was updated roughly every 24 hours, Seron was not doing anything differently.

It was only done because the updates usually came after 24 hours and when it didn't we wanted to move it on so he done the update. What's the problem, really? And anyway, it's just a little game, why get all serious about it?

It was updated roughly every 24 hours, BigTin was not doing anything differently.

I will retract my vote in fairness to respect the unbiasness of the game but I went back to the original thread, and in respect to Dhoom's point of view, SK said this:

Alright, I have decided rounds are gonna be 48 hours

Therefore it was premature for me to set a timelimit on the round. However I feel that the previous round was done anyway so I will edit my post to be a tie, and this round will be open for 48 hrs approximately. Sound fair to everyone? I honestly didn't think I was doing something wrong, just helping the game progress.

Sorry, wrong person.
