Right, i was playing my second game on deity level, the first one i couldn't finish much harder then civ2 and I had to find out about luxury resources, culture.
The second game palying was on a new map and better but very difficult to compete with the ai. In the meanwhile i was reading this forum and picked a few pointers up, i got in to the SB tactic and it worked but i was rethinking he this game couldbe even better but kept playing until the discovery of gunpowder. In this game I was on three resoures and close to the one of the germenz (pronounced like in snatch) and the one of the aztecs. On mine continent their was als a resource for the indian and two fot the chinese, none for: english, french, russians and americans.
So saving the map, starting again on the original map. Now I also got by building cities on other locations the ones of the germans and the aztecs, I stuck to mine original battleplan by attacking the germans first, instead of the very powerful aztecs attacking I attacked the weaker chinese who where very strong in the other game because of their rider in the end of that game. So I got some cities in the proximity of their future salpeter spots, in the meanwhile attacked the french (They where still weak but i feared their possible musketmen in the future) and built a city on the spot of the future indian source. Sitting on a tight schedule everybody almost got gunpowder and i attacked the chinese again. I had to build up some forces and ease the captured cities, so now everybody's got gunpowder (SB) and I 'm (almost, 2 or 3 turns) in the possion of all the salpeter on mine continent, not bad hey? I think this was nesseciary because it's quite hard to attack cities with knights which are defended by musketmen. Ok now i'm waiting that the new patch finaly works for me because corruption levels under republic are killin' me.
