Just wanted to send out a huge thanks to the art team and kael for the awesomeness that took place with the Dark elves new unit art. assassins are no longer in tight shiny leather, and the longbows look pretty nifty too. Thanks a million, ( i think i check this forum more than my own email) you guys have created an awesome game and now that the polish is in full effect, it's amazing!

I agree about the artwork. In fact, the graphics tempted me into Svartalfar nation building against my Ljosalfarian nature. Very Dark Elvish indeed.

The Svarts have unique Assassin models? I started playing FFH2 -after- the 'final' version was released (12/16/2008 according to the main site) and I haven't seen a new version since then, unless I'm missing something.

In my game, I'm positive that my Svart assassins doesn't have any unique models. What'd I miss? How do I see what version of FfH2 I have, on the odd chance that the main page isn't updated and I somehow ended up with some old version of the mod?

Thanks, I did, and then I checked the Fall from Heaven 2 download database and cross-checked with the files I downloaded myself a while ago. Turns out that I'm on the x-patch, while the latest one is the y-patch.

I wish it was mentioned somewhere more publicly, but thanks a lot anyway. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Svartalfar assassins, since I remember myself going "damn, Svartalfar really needs their own assassin model, since they're so based around the idea of cloak-and-dagger-ism", and Svartalfar being one of my favourite civilizations.

Edit: Seeing the Assassins, the Ranger and the Longbowmen.. just wow. They look absolutely great, all of it. Kudos!
Edit2: I just noticed that the Calabim cities have changed too! They look absolutely stunningly awesome, much better than the old over-the-top graphics. This is just too great to be true! All-round awesome upgrades art-wise for both my favourite civilizations! Yay!

Indeed, I think one has to play all the civs to really see all the attention to detail. I loved the Svartalfar details; but I love so many other civs too. I shouldn't neglect the audio which is awesome.
