What has the civilization games done for you?
I have played all three civ installments for the better part of a decade now but cant help wondering how much time I have spent playing the game how often have I sacrificed long term benefits, such as an education and cultivating friendships, for the sake of short term pleasures such as clubbing a rival civ into submission
or anticipating the benefits of the wonder that is almost, almost finished...and you're sure you'll get it before any other civ
...
So, do you feel that playing the game has fundamentally improved your gaming experience and enriched your life by challenging you in multiple ways
or
Has civ taken on a kind of Jeckyl and Hyde character: On the one hand its enjoyable to play and all that, but on the other its a curse not letting you off the hook and willing you to play one more turn, and then one more until you lose all track of time and wonder what the hell youre actually getting yourself into.
or is it somewhere in between?
