This post isn't important in any way, I just thought it was funny how I had lost 3 dromons (veterens) against 3 galleys of france (2 normals 1 veteren) I was attacking all three times. I have lost infinite crusaders to ancietn cavs, funny though, I have won and lost all battles with spain normally. I mean an archer vs. the spearman, i won once, spain one once. I defeated spanish galleys with my dromons, but france's units cost me a lot. It takes 3-4 mideival infantry yo kill1 ancient cav. 2-3 dromons to kill a galley, and an infinite number of crusadera trebusets and dromons to kill a city.

France au invicibeaeueu

IIRC Crusaders are 5/3 and AC are 3/2, so it is 3 Vs 3 if AC attacks, IOW a toss up.

I had a six turn war with the French...I took all their four cities, and they only attacked me once, and that was with a Longbowman and a worker.

(More info: My difficulty was Warlord, and we are all in the middle ages, and I am leading the tech tree with Persia, with everyone else in the dust).

Dromons can bombard enemy ships. Use this and you won't lose so many dromons.

I attacked their ancient cav with my crusaders not vice ver

But the bombard strength is quite pathetic... and it'll only take off one hp even if it succeeds! IMO much better to just attack (as long as you don't have extreme cases of bad luck like this ;) ).

No! The bombard is the best part about the dromons! Galleys are the most susceptible unit to bombard (tied with privateers and dromons) and a stack of 5-8 Dromons will be able to kill Galleys at their leisure and never have to fight because of their lethal sea bombard.

If the AC were merely on flatland and you were a military civ with the HE the ratio 6/4. So it is not like the Crusader is a stone lock to win.

Before you ask the relevance of the Mil/He is for promotions. They confer no direct bonus, but the course of a number of trials, the promotions will win a few extra battles.
