Goldeneye on the N64 was my all time favourite game and i wasted countless hours on it and i assume plenty of you did also. Can you tell me what all the real gun names were as i cant figure out some of them. The 'Dostevei' pistol for example?

I loved the Golden Gun. I liked waiting for the other guy to pop around a corner, and one shot kills. I got a guy in the foot once and it killed him. Great fun.

All of the guns in Goldeneye are based on actual firearms. The PP7 is of course, analogous to Bond's famous Walther PPK 7.65 mm:

The AR-33 is a copy of the standard M-16:

The DD44 Dostovei is really called the TT33 Tokarev:

The Klobb is known as the WZV61 Skorpion:

The ZMG 9mm replaces the famous Uzi:

The D5K Deutsche is based on the H&K MP5K:

The amazing RC-P90 is really just called the P90:

The KF7 Soviet is a copy of the ubiquitous AK-47:

Ah, this brought back some great memories! :ar15:

edit: fixed pictures

Can you post a picture of the slappers?

Or mabey double rocket launchers??

That game owes me 2 semesters of uni and $800 in HECS (uni fees)...

I can't remember where I read it, but I believe the Klobb is named after one of the designers, or animators, or someone associated with the making of the game. I'm pretty sure I checked the credits after hearing about this, and the guy (or girl) is listed as K. Lobb, hence forth known as Klobb. Too bad they didn't name a better gun after him/her.

That Klobb had no use at all unless you were playing license-to-kill in anywhere but the complex. Playing normal rules, the Klobb was about as good as the slappers!

License-to-kill on slappers was pretty fun, at least for the first couple kills, but then it got really boring really fast.

Agreed on the Klobb, it sucked, unless on License-to-kll.

So many good memories with that game, so many wasted hours. I didn't think I'd find another fps on the N64 that would compare...then I found Perfect Dark. I liked the story of GoldenEye better, cuase hey, it's Bond. The Multiplayer in Dark, was very cool though...like Bond, but way better...and Bond was great to begin with.

Never played PD, only watched it. I hate fps but i reckon i sat on Bond for an entire year... Spent about 5 months getting the cheat in the Facility. God that gave me the sh*ts...

I love Goldeneye, i lost it and my N64 and all of my N64 games :hmm: not idea where they are, put them up in the attica and now they're gone.
I love the facility level, good stuff :goodjob:

I tried to find Goldeneye for the PS/2. Couldn't find it. I finally got 007:Agent Under Fire for the GC, and I have a blast with it.

My three year old comes up to me at least once a day, "Hey, Dad, want to play me deathmatch?" Of course, his idea of deathmatch is me just standing there while he shoots me.

Don't laugh. . .He can beat me at Godzilla Melee. Since I've gotten to MechaGodzilla and beat him, I thought I was doing pretty good at the game. . .

I made sure i kept it. Bond on the 64 and Street Fighter & Mario cart for the SNES...

my fav gun in Goldeneye was the RC-P90 although it was rare for me to get since i didn't use the cheats in the game, i loved playing it over and over w/o cheats on. I'd have to say my fav was the double Dostovei, it was great tearing through those ruskies with that thing :D

Good God! The RC-P90 is based on a real gun? That thing was freakin' amazing! So many bullets, so very fast, so very powerful.
I assumed it was a sci-fi, Q-branch, type of thing.
Surely the real version isn't better than other guns by such a wide margin.

The most fun weapon in Goldeneye though , IMO had to be either the proximity or remote mines.
Also true in Perfect Dark, although the Slayer, the Farsight, N-bombs, or grenades in "proximity pinball" mode, all made for an interesting fight.

Aaah, Goldeneye was great, especially sneaking up really close behind a guard and your gun hand switches to a sideways 'gangsta grip' style...but running up and down those stairs on the telescope chasing Trevelyan...that was tough.

Memories...

A couple of guys I knew back in the day were just off to college when Goldeneye came out, and they came back with an amusing trick. They loved playing team games, but hated that people could see the other team's screens on the TV. So, they found a huge chunk of cardboard, lined it up flush against the TV, secured it, and voila, a dividing screen that'd leave a team on each side of it.

Sick monkeys.

Yup, sure is. Go here for info on the P90. It's pretty similar to the gun in the game, but the real life version just holds 50 rounds in the mag, not 80.

Thanks for the response and pics napoleon. Are you sure that the kf7 soviet was a ak-47? I thought it would be the ak-74 cos most of the military would use the newer model wouldnt they?

I thought this was about the movie... I don't know much about the guns, but I sure liked the girl attached to the AK-47 :)
