After looking everything over, here are my thoughts:
1. Reinstate the Roman alliance against Persia. I know it sounds like a bad idea on the surface given their past reputation. However, I don't think we should turn away any help against Persia, no matter how fickle. Plus, this alliance would be accepted by Rome with no strings attached. I don't think prolonging the war will be an issue because Caesar will probably back out before the duration of our other alliances anyway.
2. The time to protect the east is now. All new units should head east through Padmativa. We should send the horse near New PDX south as a sentry immediately, and we should rush build the knights in Strider's Haven and the Burrow the moment our horseman meets up with the Persians.
3. As for our Japan offensive, I agree that the war should continue. I recommend that we once again set our sights on Tokyo --- followed by Nara. If we use the two knights from Kells and at least two from Hakodate, we should be able to launch a strong enough attack on both cities at once. I am working on a map for this and should have it posted by 2pm GMT tomorrow. I will obviously try to make it public earlier.
@eyrei, before we take Nara, we may want to consider whether we should take the city or spare it in favor of a peace deal where we get Kagoshima and hopefully at least 3 eastern towns. I defer to your experience here.
4. Let's send our 2 elite swordsmen stationed in Ise to Novgorod(the wounded sword just south can stand guard). They can attack in 4 turns and will increase our chances of getting a GL. Send a horseman or two along just in case we have an opportunity to take the town.
This war with Japan will be over in 4-6 turns and should hopefully leave only Nara or Kagoshima in Japan's possession. Then, as 50-60% of our offense heads back east toward Persia(or America?), we should take a little detour to a little forgotten burg known as Xochicalco.
More later......please discuss my plans
