To be honest, strangely enough, I'm not a huge fan of Hendrix. I liked Purple Haze, but the other stuff is too heavy/psychodelic for me.

I wouldn't say that's a given, but I do actually like Purple Haze. I just find with that song and his first album he hadn't reached his peak talent, and was kind of doing thing to follow the trends. When he did Axis, he really started to break out into his own thing which, in my opinion anyway, pales everything he did before.
