"The Login Attempt Has Failed"

Recently my friend and I decided to play Civ 4 again together. I can get online fine but when my friend tries to login he gets the message "The Login Attempt Has Failed". It worked perfectly fine before (half a year ago?) We have tried making a new account and reinstalling. His game is also fully patched. He also turned off firewall and he does not have an anti-virus to block anything. He has both Warlords and Beyond the Sword. Any idea what's wrong? Please and thank you XD
