I've seen a few threads on here from time to time asking about standalone versions of Pitboss that don't require a full install, Win2K3 setups, etc.
Through some rather tedious trial & error, I managed to whittle down the full Civ IV installation to just the files & folders needed to run the Pitboss and nothing more. No DirectX, no movies, etc. etc. etc. It's about as close to standalone as I could make it.
Anyway, if it's useful to anyone else, I wrote up the instructions at http://www.citizenparker.com.
If you have any thoughts / comments / etc, please let me know either here or there. Thanks,
-Scott
