The Mongols! - The Devil's Horsemen!

I think the mongols would have spanked the byzantines.

Attila was the scourge of god and the mongold followed his footsteps. the hund didnt loe at chalons, it was a dead draw.

Attila was also a HUN who were DEFEATED by the WESTERN ROMAN EMPIRE- and if the west could have forced the huns into a draw, the eastern empire, being richer, and able to afford better...well, everything, would have took them out easy- the reason they didnt is because a proper moving of forces would have weakend the Sassanid Persian border- and invite an invasion

the Huns were defeated by a patrician era western Roman army (by all accounts the crappiest Roman army ever in use), and allied barbarians- if they could defeat the huns, not only BREAKING the huns sprit and force but forceing them to appeal to the Byzantine empire for land to settle, then I have no doubt that the Byzantine empire could have whooped another army who was so similer in so many respects

In the battle of the catalaunian fields, the "roman army" consisted mostly of visigoths, who were skilled warriors. They were also lead by Flavius Aëtius - a skilled commander. The hun forces lead by Attlia was in fact an allied army of predominantly german origin (like langobards, burgundians, ostrogoths) and only a portion of their army were hun horsemen.

just as only a portian of an invading mongol army would actually be Mongol- thats why its so absured for the mongols to win- they would be recruiting from the same forces the Byzantines had been defeating time and time again

thats not tosay the mongols have no chance, only that, as I said earlyer, 7 out of 10 times, the Byzantines would defeat the mongols

I said it was composed of several parts- not be me, but put into one one article by me (there are three articles in there)-I got the stuff off a internet search with no author name given- hence no credit

Well, the top part of your article says 'composed of separate parts by me' - easy to get confused by that somewhat Byzantine phrasing ! Anyway, even if no author name was given at the sites you found this at, why not add the links to those sites to give credit where credit is due ? If you're going to copy & paste whole paragraphs with only slight alterations, don't call it 'composing an article' - that implies the adding of new and unique insights into history.
That being said, I'm grateful for the further background information on the Mongols you provided - shame my performance in the current GOTM with them so far has been appallingly poor :).

sorry, If I can find a linkr for the sites I will, and I'll edit the article to give credit to the new found author :)
