I know there are several other threads on this forum about the music in Civilization 4, so I hope you forgive me for starting another one.

I thought it was a great touch to give each nation a song from Civ2 as theme music (Egypt's tune in this game was my favorite in Civ2). I also think there is some very good music in the modern era.

On the subject of sound in general, and I did not play Civ 3 so I don't know if this is new to Civ 4, but giving each nation unique unit sounds is quite aesthetically pleasing.

Overall, very pleased with the audio aspect of the game.

Welcome on board a_cat, glad you enjoy the music. I tend to use the custom music folder feature and listen to my music :P but the time i spend with the original music was good

I think the range, depth, and variety of music is very impressive. I actualy burned all of the MP3s on CD and it provides many, many, many hours of enjoyment even when not playing the game.

Yup, for me the music is almost perfect. I like to listen to it, yet it's not too intrusive, so it doesn't get into the way of the game. I've logged countless hours into the game by now, but never turned the music off - which is a novelty for me in a strategy game. :)

The special pre release version of the game came with separate soundtrack CD. :D

The soundtrack is cool, but it contains a fraction of the whole soundtrack. There's like 6 hours or more of MP3s.
